After the half-an-hour ride to the airport , with dad being a little over the speed-limit, we arrived.

The airport was oddly crowded, and it took us about another fifteen minutes to get to the passport desk , and get our passports checked, which resulted in us being so late , we barely made it.

Our plane was a medium sized one. Jason and I sat next to each other, with me in the window seat, Mom and Dad sat in the seats in front of us.

The plane was surprisingly comfortable. Even though my friends always told me that plane flights were the worst . I've never really tried a plane before , since we barely traveled and if we did it was by car. So , considering this was my very first time on a plane , I actually liked it.

It has been forty-five minutes into the flight , when the effects of my bad-night-sleep last night kicked in, and soon enough I gave in and fell into unconsciousness.

Thankfully this time I didn't have any strange dreams ,and my body had its much-needed share of rest , and before I know it Jason was trying to wake me up while shaking my shoulder , quite roughly might I add.

"Wake up Alex ! We're almost landing"

I groggily mumbled something I couldn't quite understand myself and stirred.

"What? Ugh! Never mind ... Just wake up , come on!" Jason said shaking me again.

I tried to push away his hand , but I somehow slapped him instead.

"Hey!" He protested , and I could imagine him glaring at me, "You should have given me the window seat , if you were going to sleep throughout the whole flight" He huffed.

"Perks of being older" I retorted stirring again.

"I am beginning to question that, you definitely don't act like the older one"

"I have a birth certificate to prove it," I mumbled.

He didn't say anything else , and I was just about to fall back to sleep when I heard a static sound.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we are going to land in five minutes, please put your seat belt on and follow the instructions of the air-hostess. Welcome to New York and thank you for choosing our air lines" The pilot of our flight boomed from the speakers.

I sighed and sat up straight , while running my hand through my side-swept fringe, pushing it behind my ears.

"I feel offended." Jason said suddenly.

"Why?" I asked looking at him.

"A speaker managed to wake you up , but I couldn't" he sighed.

I laughed at that.

"If it makes you feel better , technically it was the pilot not the speaker" I said while ruffling his hair.

"Same thing." he said as he swatted my hand away , while trying to fix his hair.

I was about to reply , when an air-hostess came over and asked us to fasten our seat-belts , as we were landing.

It was time to see my new home.

Jason whistled , as we emerged from the airport.
