The five teens were sitting in the library, near the back.
Catherine has spent a long time in this library, it was basically her second home when she was jumping from place to place. Even though she spends a good chunk of her time there, she didn't know anything about a section about powers. She knew that there were a few books about it in the library at school, but they were perceived more as fictional books - probably to protect those against the truth.
However, written in the diary that was left behind were a few books that Tesla approved. She wasn't sure how she was able to even write down the locations of the books considering she wasn't from the area. Nevertheless, they followed what she said.
Scribbled on one of the pages were directions to getting to the secret library in the back. Apparently, you have to lightly push on the wall next to the books on the built-in bookshelf. It was strange that Catherine had never stumbled across the hidden library before - it would have saved a lot of valuable time.
When the entrance of the library opened up, she hurried her friends into the room.
They gasped when they saw how old the library looked. It looked like it had been there for ages, like an ancient relic. Flynn was the first one to move, heading towards a shelf that he had a particular interest in, while the rest of the group slowly followed behind.
When they were digging through the books, Max found an interesting book,
"Hey guys, I found a book that has a picture of what looks like the government base," he explained.
Hallie scurried over to see the picture.
If the average everyday person were to look at the base, they would think that it was just like a warehouse of some sort. There was nothing special or striking about the base - it looked like a long white building that could store a bunch of cardboard boxes. There weren't even special rooms that stuck out in a different manner. It was just a giant rectangle.
Underneath the picture gave a description of the base of the government agency - about how they had advanced security so no one could sneak their way into the base out of the blue. This place was built like a tank, so how were they going to be able to get through?
"This is intriguing material, but why would this be publicized if they didn't wish to be ambushed?" Catherine asked, tapping her chin.
"Well, one possibility is that maybe they are cocky and think that they are invincible to those with powers. They do seem to have killer security measures according to this section, so maybe they feel like they're on top of the world." Flynn explained, pointing at the picture in the book.
"If they think they're all that, then they need to prove it more considering that they hadn't had the best numbers in regards to their extermination rate." Catherine sneered.
"What's the point of even having a base if they haven't been doing well?" Hallie asked.
"Maybe they are hatching some sort of plan that we aren't aware of," Trey suggested, making Flynn's head turn in his direction.
"That could happen, but why did it take them so long to do that?" Flynn questioned.
"Your guess is as good as mine. However, if there is one thing that I know of, it is that they think that they are 100 percent capable of defeating us." Trey mentioned.
"We could catch them off guard. They may have all of their fancy technological stuff but surely our powers can outweigh whatever they have, right?" Max piped in.
"That's one of those things that you just have to witness for yourself." Catherine reasoned, "We can't predict a whole lot so I can't give you a stable answer. For now, we need to look through more of the books and try to obtain any other information about the agency as we can. The more equipped we are about them, the more we are able to fight back."
