Shante POV

Things have been different ever since that day. Finding out you've been stalked for months and now Earl is dead.You think everything's fine when suddenly something like this happens. Steph hasn't really shown much emotion this past week, none of us have. Earl was family to us and now he's gone. How could we have let this happen?
I slid my foot into my black heels and fixed my hair a bit.I rolled down the sleeves of my dress in attempt to cover the cuts ,it was time for his funeral.
Shante- Steph you ready?
I said while walking out of the room

Stephanie-Yea I guess

Her eyes looked tired and worn out.

Shante-Baby girl it'll be OK

I knew it wouldn't

Stephanie- no it won't. Earl is gone, he meant so much to me. He was a good person.

Shante- Yes ik

I brought her in for a hug trying to not shed a tear. This whole situation is fucked.

Shante- Now come on let's go see him in person one last time.

I patted her back and grabbed the keys.

Pastor- Now we're all gathered here today to honor a special young man,
Thebe Neruda Kgositsile.

I looked over at Earl's lifeless body laying emotionless in the casket. He had on a black suit with his hands resting on his stomach.The church was dead silent and the room echoed with every word the pastor said.Syd laced her fingers with mines as we listened to what was being said.

Pastor-His sudden passing will be unfortunate to us all as he was loved by many. Does anyone have any words they would like to say?

Tyler- Yea I do

Pastor-Alright then

Tyler walked up to the mic and bent down a bit because he was too tall. He cleared his throat and began to speak.

Tyler- Hi im Tyler,thebe was very close to me. I can speak for all of his friends by saying he was like a brother to us. Many of my favorite moments in life were with the kid and it crushes me to see his life come to an end before he was able to fully experience life. But the moments we did have all together were unforgettable.

Tyler took a deep breath and looked at Earl's body

Tyler-I'll miss you little bro.

He walked away from the front and took his seat.

Stephanie Pov
Pastor- Would anyone like to go next

I took a deep breath and stood up.

Stephanie-I will

I took my spot at the mic and looked at all the people. Earl's family mixed in with all his friends.Coen was in the arms of Earl's mom as she fought to keep her tears from falling.

Stephanie-Thebe was an amazing person and his life was tooken too soon. The father of our son and a very close friend to me. He was there when I needed him the most and made life just better. From when we first met randomly when I moved here to California, to the last time we spoke. His passion for whatever he was doing amazed me

I small smile appeared thinking about my time with him. I looked back up to the people when all of a sudden the door quietly opened but no one noticed . It was Zac,he took a seat in the back and smiled at me.A pain appeared in my chest and Immediately broke down, I was having a panic attack. Out of nowhere Zac came and wrapped his arms around me and people were standing up to see if I was ok.
