"Mom," I squealed in ecstasy. She opened the door only to find me squealing and jumping on her mattress. "Off." She swatted at my legs. I giggled and bounded from the bed, my brown-caramel hair flying all over my face. My mom sighed and wiped her bed off any dust I might have left behind. She mumbled. "Couldn't you have found a better place to express your joy, Melissa?"

Guilt creeped up my throat as I watched her dusting the bed sheet, but I quickly pushed it down. This wasn't the time to feel guilty. I was having one of the best days ever.

It was one year for me and Finn and I was damn sure he had something amazing planned. Didn't he always? I was still perplexed at how Finn chose me. No doubt I was attractive, with my brown hair and crystal blue eyes, but I definitely wasn't the definition of gorgeous or in other words as the girls in my school called"skanky" who showed off more body parts than was meant too.

Secondly, there was too days left.

"Mom," I shrieked again. "Two days left mom, two days," I reminded her for what honestly felt like the millionth time.
"Oh no," she grumbled. "Not that band again? What's it called? One.... Team?"

"One direction!" I finished for her, rolling my eyes in the process. "Two days left till I finally see them. Till I finally see Harry." I couldn't believe it. My favorite band of all time was finally coming to Washington to perform some songs. I had bought the tickets five months ago and had given my mom a headache since the day I bought them. She was tired of hearing me countdown, but I couldn't freaking help it. Tremors of happiness coursed through me as I realized I would be staring into Harry's crystal emerald eyes in no less than too days.

"You mean Harry, the curly haired one?" My mom asked, scrunching up her nose as if the though of liking him repulsed her.

I wiggled my eyebrows right back at her. "Yes! You can't blame me for liking him. No scratch that. You can't blame me for liking them all."

She sighed in what seemed like defeat. My mom wrapped a scrunchie around her red auburn hair. Obviously I hadn't inherited my hair from her. "Whatever," she sighed. She gave the bed one final thump and then turned her attention towards me. "Forget about all that. Today concentrate about you and Finn."

I beamed at that. My mom had surprisingly always been supportive of our relationship, with the occasionally sex pamphlets and all, but that just proved she cared all the more.

"It's one year isn't it?"

"Yes," I beamed. Finn was a flirt when I had first started dating him. I was proud for the fact that he hardly ever focused his attention on girls anymore. Obviously, he still checked them out. But he never gave them the impression he was interested, the was the useful do three months into our relationship. Finn was the stud of the school which had led me to believe he was just toying away with me when he first started. He was one of those picture- perfect blonde hair, blue eyes kind of guy that could give any girl weak knees with one smile. That was the sole reason I always wondered why he picked me. When he could have Monica, the typical beauty queen and slut of the school.

I pushed all those thoughts away. We survived one year. Shouldn't I be getting any credit for that? Finn and me started off when I was seventeen. So it was pretty much safe to say we were in a mature relationship.

"Well good for you,"my mom said, kissing me swiftly on the forehead. "Well I hope everything goes alright today. I've got to run to the market. How are you getting to school?"

I scrunched my nose. It was way embarrassing that my mom was still over protective of me, but I tried not to show it when I saw the genuine concern hidden behind those grey eyes of hers. "Scarlett's picking me up."
