I fumbled for words. My heart clutched but not with fear, with excitement from seeing Harry Styles standing right in front of me.
"Uh...I...we..." I swear I was going to embarrass myself by crying. I covered my mouth with my hand. I felt like screaming, like doing the rain dance but at the same time, I was rooted to the spot, unable to move. I heard Scarlett let out a high pitch scream. Obviously she snapped out of her revere way before I did. She continued screaming like an idiot whose pants were set on fire and bounded into Harry's arms.
Harry chuckled softly as she hugged him. He let her hug him too, with no resistance. Scarlett continued screaming up and down and after what felt like minutes, did she finally let Harry go. I stared at his emerald eyes. God! They were even greener on real life. He was wearing one of those loose shirts he always wore, with two buttons opened showing his butterfly tattoo right in the middle of his torso. Harry's brownish-blackish hair reached his shoulders in a sweep.
I swallowed hard. I wanted to hug him. I so did. Then what was stopping me? I felt as if I had lost my voice. Scarlett was still screaming, jumping around, singing something which sounded like she was never going to take a bath again.
Harry grinned, and after realizing that I wasn't about to make the first move, he walked over and put his arms around me. I shuddered, burying my head in the crook of his neck.
He wrapped his arms around me even tighter, and that was when something in me snapped. Harry styles was hugging me. Was holding me.
I came out from my world and held him back with so much force that Harry's chuckle stirred the hair on my neck.
I felt tears prick my eyes as I stared at the beautiful man before me. Heck, he was even more gorgeous in real life. "You okay?" He asked, gripping my shoulder. I forced my head to nod at his words.
He turned around to Scarlett who was still doing her rain dance. "You?" He asked, eyebrows raised. "Never better!" She squealed. Literally squealed. She bounded over to where we were standing. "I'm Scarlett." She held her hand out for Harry.
"Nice to meet you," he said. I had never seen someone act this much like a gentleman the way Harry was right now. It took me all I had not to break my rule and kiss him right there. To feel his lips on mine.
He turned towards me, his face questioning. The intensity of his eyes could have set me on fire for all I cared. And with the way he was studying my face right now, I was pretty sure I melted even more.
"Melissa," I muttered the words out.
He nodded, grinning. "So what are you girls really doing here?" He asked with a smirk. As if he didn't have an inkling already?
"We..uh..we sort of broke in," I said, suddenly cursing myself. His eyes glittered with humor. Harry knew he was making us uncomfortable and was enjoying every bit of it. "Why?" He taunted. He was mentally laughing at our predicament.
I gaped at him. Why would he ask that. Scarlett and me fumbled for more words. Harry threw his head back and laughed. "Just kidding guys," he said.
"Sorry for putting you in that position." He exhaled, looking serious suddenly. I knew I should have asked him for a picture, should have asked for an autograph, but it seemed like the cat had got my tongue. I just gaped at him. "I don't normally do this," he breathed, "but-" Harry swung his head side-to-side as if he was going through his thoughts and finally came up with a solution that suited him best. "You girls look nice enough. Nice enough that you won't squeal about this!" It was more of a question than a fact. I found myself nodding.
He breathed once more and put his arm around my shoulder. His touch sent shivers running up and down my spine. "Come on," he muttered and steered Scarlett and me away from the room.
