MELISSA'S (POV)

I sighed and walked back into my living room, only to find Finn tailing right behind me like a long lost puppy. I groaned. "Why are you following me Finn?"

"Why aren't you giving me another chance, Melissa?"

I stopped short, which caused Finn to bump into me. Hard. "What?" You're asking for a second chance, Finn? Are you even listening to yourself at the moment? Do you even get what you're saying?" I shouted. I wasn't the one who normally blew her cool, but this time the tables had turned.

"You're asking me to forgive you when you sucked face with your skank right in front of me. Did you even get an inkling on how much that hurt? But no! You acted like it made no difference for me to catch you."

My breathing turned harsher.

"Which is why I'm asking for your forgiveness," Finn said.

I groaned and turned away from him. I sure as hell couldn't face Finn right now. Not when I had finally decided to flush him right out my system. I couldn't bring the pain that came with Finn back. It would just destroy me. Finn, as if, realizing the fight had left me, took a step forward. "Melissa," he started and when he saw I didn't make an attempt to stop him. "You have every right to be mad at me." He reached up, spun me around slowly to face him and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. I flinched back and could see the pain in his eyes.

"I'm not asking you to forgive me right away, Mel. I know you won't. I'm just asking for another chance."

"What?" I snapped suddenly. "Monica left you. Is that why you're here?Because you just need a girl to carry around and show off like an accessory. Because now that Monica left you, you just need someone else?" I didn't need Finn to answer that question for me. The look on his face said everything. It said that I had hit the nail right on the head. My eyes blurred with tears again, for what felt like the hundredth time this past week.

Finn took my hands tenderly in his. "Mel, just give me another chance. I'm worth it."

I pulled my hands from his. "Don't touch me," I hissed, but Finn seemed adamant to touch me. He walked closer and placed his palms on my cheek, cupping them. I waved them away, but he kept advancing forward while I kept inching back. Geez! Couldn't he take a hint.

The intensity in Finns eyes started to scare me as he kept approaching with only one look in his eyes. A look that said he would win. And damn, if I didn't want to be the prize.

"Finn," I said, my voice suddenly unsteady. "You're scaring me."

But Finn didn't let up. He came closer until his lips were two inches from mine. Suddenly, it seemed like a dark force had taken over me. I wouldn't lean into the kiss. I couldn't. I was afraid of Finn's intensity. Something that I hadn't been afraid of before. I brought my hand up even faster then my brain could comprehend and felt it connecting with Finn's cheek.

The noise echoed loud.

Shit!

I just slapped Finn.

I watched in horror as Finn put his palm over his right cheek which was already tingling red. He gaped at me. I was in shock. I barely registered anything as I left the door and ran right out of my house, onto the street while a very startled Finn stood right in the heart of my house, still caressing his burning cheek.
