Chapter 2
━━━━━━━━ ⸙ ━━━━━━━━

"Oh my gosh!" "What happened to your eyes, my dear?" Hinaplos nito ang aking mukha.

I am very much aware that I looked like a panda. Where dark circles were camping  just right below my eyes.

"'Ma." Awat ng kapatid ko. "Finish your meal and let Natasha have her breakfast." My brother was sitting on the center of the table. Kung saan ang dating puwesto ni papa.

"Yeah."

"Fine. But you, Natasha. You don't look fine."

"Sorry, gran. It was actually our fault."

"We made mummy narrate us a story last night. Please don't be mad at her, granny." Ngayon naman ay si Torch. He was the boy on the maroon pj's.

"It's true." Sigunda ni Flame.

I bite my lips to prevent myself from drawing a smile. This kids were really my savior. Though, it was not true that they were the reason of my sleep deprivation.

"Oh! I'll not be mad if you will share what story had your mummy told you." The old lady smiled mischievously.

"'Ma, let the kids devour their food in peace."

For sure, mama was just looking for comfort after papa Magnus passed away three years ago. It was quite long but there is no short or long for a woman who miss her love of her life.

"I did not say that they should yarn it right away." Our mother said in 'duh' tone.

I mentally shook my head on our mother's unyielding response.

"It's been long time since we eat like this." Mama said in nostalgia.

"Yes, because you keep wandering in only god knows where." Malcolm said.

"I am just trying to have fun, son. I miss your papa very much and I miss him more by staying in a place that reminds me of him."

"Alright. Go wherever you want." My brother said in resignation.

Nobody wins against Carmella Lehvrozki when it comes to an argument.

"So how's life kids?"

Nagkatinginan kaming magkapatid bago sabay na nagkibit-balikat.

"Tangled."

"Usual."

Mama groaned. I do not know what kind of answer she expect us to give but one thing for sure. She was not please by our replies.

"I don't know what to do at the both of you anymore!" Padabog itong tumayo. "Farvel!" Goodbye!

"Mum, where are you going?" Tanong ni Malcolm.
