Chapter 12

-MELODY-

Nasa loob kami ng battle arena dahil ngayon na ang battle namin sa seniors namin na mula sa Class 2-B.

The arena was more spacious than the training room. Pero ang battle arena na to ay for class presentations lamang. The real battle arena is outside.

Kasama rin namin ang mga knights. Nauna silang maglabanan. Masasabi kong may ikabubuga ang mga kaklase ko. Pati na rin yung mga seniors namin.

"Next! Cyril Graham from 1-C and Duncan Morris from 2-B!"

Naghiyawan kami dahil sa kaklase na namin yung sasabak. Idagdag mo pa na isa siyang royalty.

Their fight started and all my expectations went...downhill. Even my classmates were disappointed. Natalo kasi si Cyril.

But I can sense something from him. Isang bagay na gusto kong meron sa amin. I don't know what it is.

"He's still a royal pain. Kaya nga walang tumanggap sa kanya na guild." Biglang sabi ng katabi kong si Doms. Automatiko akong napatingin sa kanya.

"Royal pain? What do you mean?" Tanong ko

"Siya ang pinakamahina sa lahat ng royal princes. I mean, sa lahat ng royalties." Nakangiwi niyang sabi.

Muli kong tiningnan si Cyril na nakayukong bumalik sa posisyon niya kanina sa upuan. The teacher called the next students to fight.

"I want him in our guild." Bigla kong sabi.

"You what?! Seryoso ka ba?!" Gulat niyang tanong.

"I see something in him. I can't put it in words exactly." Sabi ko

"Baka type mo siya?" Natatawa niyang tanong. Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin ngunit nakangisi pa rin siya.

"It's not that. Yun bang...there is something in him that I want for our guild. I see potential in him." Sabi ko

"So you're really serious?" Gulat na tanong niya

"Yeah." Sagot ko

"Well if that's the case, I want to see how can I trust you." Nakangisi niyang sabi

"Is that a challenge?" Ngisi ko sa kanya pabalik

"If you win, he can be on the guild. What do you think?"

"Challenge accepted."

Hindi nagtagal ay tinawag na ang mga mages. Nang mag-umpisa na ang mga naunang tinawag, nanalo agad ang sa kabila. The fight went smoothly at tinawag na si Doms at ang makakalaban niya.

The battle began at puro lang sila pag-cast ng spells. They would also use barriers and long range attacks. But if I were them, I would have done some actions.

"Comet!" Pag-cast ni Doms

Swarms of comets went crashing under her opponent's barrier hanggang sa masira ito. Her opponent dodged her attacks which made the battle slightly exciting...for me. Naghiyawan ang mga estudyante dahil sa kilos ng kalaban ni Doms.

"Water Blades!" Her opponent casted.

Nakailag doon si Doms at napangisi ako dahil mas lalo nang gumaganda ang laban. Even the two classes went wild. Pero parang kulang pa ata tong nakikita ko. I want more action.

Patuloy pa rin sila sa pag-cast ng spells, takbo at gawa ng barriers that lasted for how many minutes. Like seriously, nawala ang ngisi ko saka yung thrill.

Natapos ang laban na nanalo si Doms. Ngiting-ngiti itong nakaupo sa tabi ko. It's like she won a prize or something.

"Next! Melody Ashrienne Gallagher from 1-C and Chloe Evans from 2-B!"

I went to the center of the arena. My opponent seems to be very confident she'll win. And we will see about that.

The fight started and we started throwing each other some spells. Of course I'll go easy on her.

"Shell Knives!" Pag cast niya ng spell.

Shells formed into knives which attacked me. Gumawa agad ako ng barrier para hindi ako magalusan.

"Tornado!" I made a devastating tornado that shattered her barrier. Ginamit ko din iyong pagkakataon para umatake sa kanya.

"Poison Vines!" Vines of thorns entangled me and I felt the fresh blood coming out from my flesh.

"Tempest!" I casted a strong air spell and the vines immediately vanished. I used water blades which made her left arm and right knee bleed.

The fight was getting so intense and neither one of us plans on stopping. Nagpatuloy lang din kami sa pag-cast ng spells at barriers.

"Boulders!" Nagulat nalang ako ng may nahulog na limang naglalakihang bato. It had the same shape as the stones on Easter Island.

The four boulders cornered me and the fifth one served as my roof. Para bang nakakulong ako sa ng kulungan na gawa sa bato.

"Poison Vines!" I was then entangled again with the pesky vines. I see she's a one trick pony.

Napangisi ako dahil uminom ako kanina ng Anti-Poison Potion bago pa man magsimula ang laban. The rules didn't mentioned anything about not drinking anything before the battle.

I heard the crowd screaming for my opponent's name. Magpakasaya sila dahil baka mamaya, hindi na.

"Bomb Electric Spikes! Fire Tornado! Rampaging Tempest!" Sunod-sunod akong nagpakawala ng spells.

Kita ko ang gulat sa mga mata nila. Nag-uumpisa pa lang ako pero parang patapos na ata sila. To make this one quick, sunod-sunod akong nagpakawala ng malalakas na atake.

"Shell Knives! Fire Tornado! Rampaging Tempest!" Pag-cast ko ng spell.

Ramdam kong unti-unting gumuguho ang barrier ng arena. My opponent is already bleeding non-stop. Kapag pinagpatuloy ko pa ang laban, she might die.

The battle went on for a few minutes hanggang sa nag-surrender na ang aking kalaban. She was bought to the clinic for better medical assistance.

Sa huli, hinirang akong panalo. I saw the shocked face of Doms. Napangisi ako sa kanya at nang makita niya yon ay umirap siya saka ako nginisihan pabalik.

I didn't bother to heal my own wounds dahil kusa naman yang gagaling. Or maybe I'll just drink a healing potion later. Nang matapos ang training namin, we followed Cyril to the cafeteria.

"Hey. Cyril right?" Tanong ko sa kanya.

Gulat siyang napatingin sa direksyon ko. He even turned pale when he saw Doms. Nakita kong nakataas ang isang kilay ni Doms which made her look intimidating.

"Y-yes?"

"I know this is a bit sudden, but would you like to join our guild?" Tanong ko sa kanya. His eyes even widened at my question.

"S-seryoso? But I'm weak and-" I cut him off. Napaka-nega ng lalaking to.

"I'm serious. I know someone who can helo you become stronger." Ngisi kong sabi.

"B-but why me? Maraming mas malakas na knights kesa sakin."

"A royalty like you is stronger than any knights I know. And you're not weak as you think you are. You only lack training that's why I'm asking you to join us. I know you're strong Cyril." Pangungumbinsi ko sa kanya.

I can see hesitation in his eyes. Halata sa kanya na mukhang wala siyang plano na sumali sa guild namin.

"I'll think about it." Sabi niya

"Just make sure to tell us your decision before Friday." Ngiti kong sabi sa kanya na ikinatango niya.

Well that was easy.
