Sinarado ko na ang librong hawak ko dahil sa tawag ni Dad. Lumapit ako sa kanya at nagtataka siyang tinignan.
"What is it Dad?" Tanong ko sa kanya
"I hope you won't be mad at this but your Mom and I have enrolled you to Aozora Academy." Dad
I gave Dad a reassuring smile. It is a privilege na makapag-aral. Mukhang madami na naman akong matututunan sa mundong ginagalawan ko ngayon.
"Don't worry Dad. It's fine with me." Ngiti kong sabi sa kanya.
"Really? You're not mad?" Dad asked with a happy tone.
"Why would I? Tell me the details." I just kept the smile on my face.
"Bukas na ang alis mo patungo sa academy. Sabay kayo ng kapatid mo." Dad
"Bukas? So I should pack now, right?" Gulat kong tanong
"Your Mom and the maids already handled it. And don't worry, no corsets." Dad
"Great!" Nakangiti kong sabi
He really knows I hate to wear those dresses with corsets and petticoats. For what reason, that is I'm not comfortable with it.
"That's good to hear. Oh siya, aalis na ko." Dad
I smiled and waved him goodbye. He is going to his work as the Duke. Pumunta ako sa kwarto ko at nadatnan si Mom na abala sa pag-aayos ng gamit ko.
"Shouldn't I be the one doing that?" Tanong ko kay Mom. She just turned to me and smiled.
"Just let me do this for you. Besides, nandito naman sina Manang para tulungan ako." Mom
"But still, you can just tell me." Medyo nakangiwi kong sabi
"Nope. Baka mamaya kung ano na yung ilalagay mo sa bag mo. I don't want you to put those things you've summoned." Mom
Natawa nalang ako ng mahina. She must've saw the makeup I've summoned. Ilang sandali pa ay dumating ang isang kawal na tumakbo pa papunta rito.
"Duchess Emma! Inaatake po ang District 7!"
Nagulat kami sa ibinalita niya. Bumaling ang tingin ko kay Mom na seryoso ang itsura.
"Phantom?" Tanong ni Mom
"Furry Goblins. Monster type." Sagot ng kawal.
"Monster type phantoms are difficult to deal with. Ilan ba sila?" Tanong ni Mom
"More or less 100 Duchess Emma."
"Bring the mages to the towers. Alam na nila ang gagawin. And make sure to secure the people. I will be on my post soon." Mom
"As you command, Duchess Emma." Sagot nung kawal at nagmadaling umalis.
Bumaling ng tingin sakin si Mom at ngumiti.
"You stay here okay? Kailangan mong ihanda ang gamit mo para bukas." Mom
"Can I go with you?" Tanong ko
"Not yet Melody. You are still young too be with the elder mages." Mom
"Is age even relevant in a battlefield? I'm a strong mage Mom! Tsaka I can even wield a sword that mages can't do!" Giit ko
"Melody. Hindi pa pwede. You have to listen and obey me because this is for your own sake. Naiintindihan mo ba ako?" Mom remarked in a serious tone.
I just took a deep breath at no choice akong sumang-ayon sa kanya. I can't defy her since she is my mother in this world.
"Yes Mom." Sagot ko
"I will be back. I hope I'll see progress when I return." Mom
"Of course! The bag will be loaded!" Masigla kong sabi
"Melody." Nagbabantang sabi ni Mom
"Just kidding." Nakangiti kong sabi
Nagpaalam na siya saka sinamahan siya ni Manang palabas. I'm now left in my own room. I continued packing up my clothes and other things I needed for school.
"Hay! Natapos din!" Sabi ko pagkatapos ng ilang oras na pag-iimpake.
I heard a knock at nakita ko doon ang kapatid kong si Vance. Well he's not my legitimate brother since I'm only adopted. But we treated each other as real siblings. We have the same age too but I'm months older than him.
"Mels... I can heard loud noises coming from the throne room." Seryoso at medyo kabadong sabi niya.
"Nakapasok ba sila?" I asked him with my eyes wide open.
"I guess." Vance hesitantly replied
"Then let's battle them." Ngisi kong sabi
"What?!" Gulantang na tanong niya
"You heard me. Kakalabanin natin sila." Balewala kong sabi
"You serious?!" Tanong niya
"You think I'm joking?" Taas kilay kong tanong pabalik
Nakarinig naman kami ng kalabog na nagmumula sa throne room. We also heard the sound of the swords from the guards.
"We have to help them. Hindi pwedeng tutunganga tayo rito Vance. We didn't train for nothing. Did we?" Pangungumbinsi ko sa kanya
He just glared at me saka napabuntong hininga.
"Alright." Sabi niya sabay inom ng Amplifying Potion.
He wielded his sword saka lumabas na kami sa kwarto ko. We headed to the throne room saka nakita kong ang daming Furry Goblins ang makikitang nilalabanan ang mga kawal.
"Electric Spike!" Pag-cast ko ng spell
The furry goblins didn't stand a chance against my electricity. At mas lalong hindi nila nakayanan ang espada ni Vance.
"Heartseeker! Lightspeed!" Vance summoned his sword saka nag-cast din siya ng kanyang weapon ability.
Nakita kong parang hindi na makakayanan ng mga gwardiya ang ang mga kalaban. Kaya naman, I amplified their power.
"Forces of Nature, Amplify thy Guards!" Pag-cast ko ng amplifying chant sa mga gwardiya
They thanked me for that saka ako tumango sa kanila at bumalik na ang lahat sa pakikipaglaban. Our forces got stronger hanggang sa maubos ang mga furry goblins.
Tinigil ko na ang ampliying spell saka tiningnan ang buong paligid. The guards went out to check the other places. Tanging kami nalang ni Vance ang naiwan sa throne room.
"You tired already?" Ngisi kong tanong kay Vance.
"Not a chance. Those goblins were easy to defeat." Pagmamayabang niya
"Sayang di ko nagamit si Suffer." Patukoy ko sa espada ko.
"You better not use your weapons in school." Vance. Natawa lang ako sa sinabi niya. Alam ko naman iyon eh.
"I won't. Chill ka lang." Natatawa kong sagot
Ilang sandali pa ay nagmamadaling lumapit sa amin si Mom saka niyakap kami ni Vance.
"Akala ko kung ano na nangyari sa inyo." Nag-aalala niyang sabi.
"Don't worry Mom. We're safe." Paninigurado ko
She was still talking to us saka siya nagpaalam na may aasikasuhin siya. She also reminded us for tomorrow.
