'I am going to leave for the work Aayan, Catch me at the office place when you get ready then we will go together.' Razia called.
'Hey wait, no need to go alone, I am coming in just 2 minutes.' He called back from the shower.
'And I don't have those 2 minutes to waste, and am going, bye.' And she left.
'No..No..hey? Razia? Are you there? Ughh..this girl, why is she so stubborn?' He pouted to himself.
He hurriedly took the shower and got dressed up in his usual casual look with a V-neck white T-shirt, a blue denim and sports shoes. He didn't had enough time as he didn't wanted Razia to roam around in the village alone so he moved his fingers in his hairs to manage them and ran in the direction of the car taking the keys.
Just in 5 minutes, he was at the workplace, which was a newly built building and it's opening was yet to come. He strides inside and went to Razia.'Oh Aayan, you are active today and ummmm ....c..cyu-' Razia stuttered.
'Hey what's the matter? It's really unusual for you to stutter. What? Is there something wrong? And why were you in so much hurry today?Tell me Razia, you are killing me.' He shooted her with the queue of questions
'Yes, there is something wrong.' She said wide eyed.
'What?Tell me now.' He said in an authoritative tone.
'You are looking cute. How? I didn't knew that you look this cute when it comes to messy hair.' She chuckled.
'Ah, you nearly gave me a heart attack. Wait, wo...wooooo, You gave me a compliment? Like a real one? You liked my look today? Like really?'
He grinned like an idiot.'Oh please don't overdo it, and I must ask Aashi that what did she ate when you when in her tummy. You talk too much.' She said playfully ruffling his hairs. 'And now I can definitely spoil your shitty hairstyles as you look way better in this mess.' She added.
'I don't know why but this compliment sounds more like an insult.' He said scratching his chin with the index finger.
In a reply, Razia just giggled and gave him a sweet peck on his cheek.
Aayan was both surprised and shy at the same time as Razia has never shown any sign of affection towards him till now. Of course they are best friends and love each other to death but there were certainly some boundaries between them, maintained by Razia. And Aayan always respected that distance.
'I will definitely not wash my cheeks for a month.' He joked.
'Don't be ridiculous and come with me, we have work to do.' She said rolling her eyes at him and grinning from ear to ear.
'Work? There is noone here Razia. The event is one week away and the preparations and decorations have time to get started.' He said.
'And you think I don't know that? Aayan, I know what you are saying. You have arranged many events in many parts of the country, but they were probably the areas where people had modern mindsets but this is a village.' She tried to explain.
'Yeah, I know right? But what are you planning to do?' Ayaan interrogated trying to decipher her words.
'Ok, so I was thinking that as I said it's a village, and people do not have that acceptance and tolerance towards the modern mindsets and are pretty stucked with the toxic old traditions-'
'So you are planning to go and talk to them and explain and convince them with our new ideas to make them participate in the event and understand what we are trying to convey.' He completed.
'Yesss.' She whispered. ' But listen, as it is not easy to change the whole ideology of people by just talking to them once, we have to follow a different approch. If we tell them directly that the traditions they are following from ages are toxic, it might offend them, so we have to explain it to them in a way that they take it easily and smoothly.' She elaborated.
'Like rather than saying, that a woman can also be teachers, we should say that it's the work of a woman to take care of kids so it must be them who should be teaching them as it is a more feminine kind of thing?' He asked raising his right eyebrow.
'It really sounds stupid, but yes we have to approach them this way only.' She nodded in agreement.
'You are a hell of a genius, you know?' He said.
'Stop buttering! Now let's go.' She strides towards the door and he followed her.
