Chapter 3: Monday Greens

"What now?" Tanong ni Mauwi sa akin.
Nandito kami ngayon sa mall, having our girls' day out at kakatapos lang naming kumain. We rarely do this now since we're both busy with our careers- Mauwi's having her internship in Cavite while I'm managing a business here in Nueva Ecija, so whenever we do, we try to make it as enjoyable.
I checked our sched. Yes, we have a sched. I guess this is what it means to be getting older.
"Let's see here... going firing at 2 buut- but before we go I need to stop by somewhere."
We stopped by a luxury store. There's this shoes na matagal ko nang pinag-iipunan. It's a limited edition and I remember liking it so much and even told the store manager to make sure na ireserve niya 'yon para sa 'kin. Sadly, when we got there, wala na yung shoes. I was told that someone much more desperate than I was wanted it that he even payed more than the original price just so he can get it.
THAT desperate, huh? The fact that he can afford just buying it on the spot says it all. Must feel good to be rich.
In the end, they were left with no choice kundi ibenta na lang. Para akong nanghina bigla.
"Ano bang itsura no'n? We could probably stop by some other stores to see if there's something similar." I know she's only trying to make me feel better but nah. I don't think anything could ever make up for it.
"Let's just not. Let's go on with our sched na lang as we've got a lot of catching up to do."
I've never seen a pair that beautiful. It was a green stiletto, the best of it's kind.

Dahan-dahang isinara ni Mauwi ang librong binabasa nito matapos niyang marating ang kahuli-hulihang page.
"I'm finally done reviewing 3 semesters worth of lessons." she said in a soft voice at saka nag-stretching sa upuan niya.
Napanganga ako.
Her book is like more than 4,000 pages and she's actually telling me that she finished reading it and advanced na nang 3 sems! Then again, it's typical of her na aralin ang buong taong lesson sa isang quarter lang at saka magchill the rest of the year. It shouldn't be surprising to me by now but it just shocks me everytime.
I know. She can't be real but she is.
"Aaand as I promised with your parents, puwede na kita ngayong tulungang magreview, but not here. Bawal maingay dito. Let's go," she whispered.
You heard it right. My parents told her after ko naipasa ang dalawang exams ko last friday with her help.
We moved out and decided na sa cafeteria na lang kami dahil lunch time na rin pala. As we walk, I smiled and waved to people I know na nakakasalubong namin. Some of them asked if okay na ba ako and just told them how obvious the answer to the question is. I told you I was kinda popular.
After some time, we saw Carlos Lin na papunta ding cafeteria at sumabay ito sa aming maglakad.
"So I assume you read my card," pag-uumpisa niya sa convo with a little hesitation and a very teeny shakiness in his voice.
"Oh yeah I did. Well, I wasn't badly hurt, really, but still, it's good to know that some people actually give a damn." I tried so hard to steady my voice although medyo naa-awkward din ako because of the talk I had with Mauwi about him liking me. I also kinda wanna give him the feels that it's okay for him to be comfortable talking and it kinda worked dahil natawa siya ng bahagya.
