Chapter 5: Oliver Morris

After I have received that 2nd I'm-sorry card from the perp yesterday (yes, we'll call whoever that is 'the perp'), I decided to never sleep at the library again. However, guess what? I received just yet another post-it which is seriously creepy by the way, and this time, sa bulsa ng backpack ko naman nakalagay!

Then after that, sa iba-ibang locations na. Sa locker ko, sa upuan ng library, sa ilalim ng mesa ko sa Sociology class, at hulaan niyo kun sa'n pa, nakadikit mismo sa sapatos ko! Imagine he was so close to me but I never caught him! I swear to the gods, this perp is creative asf.

Naglalakad kami ngayon ni Mauwi papuntang cafeteria, just comfortably silent. Nadaanan namin ang bulk ng mga students na nakatingin sa what look like posters sa tabi mismo ng daan.

"OMG! It's the candidates for Mr. and Ms. SHU!" I exclaimed at nagkatininginan kaming dalawa with the same expression in our face.

Right before the Christmas vacation, nagaganap ang taunang University week. Mayroong iba't ibang booths at mga events na gaganapin, kabilang na doon ang pageant for Mr. and Ms. Saint Helena University. Each college ay mayroong representative who were carefully picked with the standards of having good grades, talent, personality, at siyempre, physique. Ang mapipiling king and queen ang magiging student ambassadors for the next schoolyear at magre-represent sa school namin sa mga interschool pageants.

Nagpaunahan kami sa pagtakbo ni Mauwi papuntang front gate kung saan nag-uumpisang nakapaskil ang mga posters. We may disagree on a lot of things but there are some things we agree on, and this is one of them. Mauwi being a sucker for intellect and beautiful people, likes pageants as it is a battle of beauty and wits. On the other hand, me, being an indecisive being, I find it satisfying to watch the winning candidates being called on at the end of the program like how are you supposed to tell who's better because I can't.

When we got there ay nakipagsiksikan kami sa crowd para makita ang unang candidate.

Holy hotness! Napanganga ako. I think the theme is Pre-colonial Philippines because the lady is dressed in a bright-colored silk robe that exposes a little skin and an intricately-woven head-dress while the gentleman is wearing a meter-long robe na parang bahag but longer and a cloth on his head. I assume they made it this way because the school does not allow showing too much skin. They at the very least allowed him to go topless but had his arms cover half of his body. Ok lang naman becausethe abs and chest muscles can still be seen and oohlala! I swear he is hot! They're both dashing!

I read the poster in my head, "Natalia Reinoso and Karver Ferguson from College of Arts and Sciences." Tiningnan ko ulit ang mukha ng dalawa. Ang babe mukhang mestiza, ang tangos ng ilong at kaaya-aya ang mukha while ang guy naman parang half black. Sobrang toned and facial muscles nito at ang guwapo!

"Oh candidate niyo 'to! Wah," napailing ako. "Wah," hindi ako natigil sa pag-iling. Hindi ako makahanap ng salitang pwedeng icomment. "Wah."

Natigil lang ako nang may magsalita sa likod namin. "Oh si Karver! Akala ko talaga si Matthew yung sasali. Buti na lang,"

"Yeah, I also prefer Karver over Matthew," mahinang sabi naman ni Mauwi.

Dumako kami sa susunod na candidates na galing naman sa College of Architecture and technology at gaya ng nauna, ang nasabi ko lang ay, "Wah," at walang-tigil na iling. Taliwas sa naunang pair of candidate ay pinoy na pinoy naman ang features ng mga 'to at pareho ding magagandang tao.

Nang mapadpad kami sa 3rd pair of candidate ay medyo nahilo na 'ko kakailing kaya napasabi na lang ako ng "wah" at pagkatapos nun ay hindi ko na nagawa pang itikom ang bunganga ko. From College of Medicine sila kaya hindi nagawang itago ni Mauwi ang pagkamangha, pag-iidolo, at pagtingala sa mga ito.
