Lily Evans laid beside her sister, looking at the stars.

"Lils? Do you really have to spend all your time with that boy? He's weird. I heard his mom is a witch who practices voodoo magic... You shouldn't trust him so much."

"Sev is my friend. He won't hurt me."

Dearest sister, Petunia,
Do you remember before we knew about Hogwarts? How I was friends with Severus and you didn't like him? Hah... I know we don't get along anymore. I just thought I should tell you, you're right. He's not kind. He's not the good guy. Don't tell Mum or Pa, but I think... I think that sometimes I hate the wizards. I hate their world sometimes, alright! I don't think that I should write to our parents anymore. Feel free to respond,
""Lily Evans

When Lily Potter had married James Potter, she had been a little sad to give up the last thing tying her to her birth family. But now that she had the twins, she wasn't sad anymore. She had a proper family.
She was also bubbling over with rage. Albus only told her after a few months that her children were in mortal danger by association!? Oh, when all this was over, if Voldemort hadn't killed the Headmaster, she would. But keeping her children safe was the top priority. So, she once again contacted Petunia. Convincing her sister to let a floo be put in, even if it was only linked to the escape house, was a hard feat. But once Albus had made himself secret keeper, under the fidelius charm, and she and James and the kids were all hidden, only to be seen by Albus and, should things go horribly wrong, Petunia, she finally felt she could meet her children in the way a mother should, to nurture them and play with them, instead of just to feed them and hide the from the world.

Petunia Dursley [neé Evans] had no magical education. Dumbledore should have told her what to do with the note that held her sister's address, but he didn't so she threw it away. Lily had never taught her anything besides current events, and her sister's books were all covered in ink blots and notes, so how was she to know she'd kill her sister? Some research and a point-me was all it took for Voldemort to get the address.

Lily Potter lay dead on the floor. As far as Voldemort knew, James Potter was dead too. Now it was just him and two sleeping infants. Voldemort raised his wand at one. The baby's magic lashed out as they slept on peacefully. Voldemort grinned. The killing curse was whispered... A small fragment of little Hadrian Potter's magic latched onto Hestia Potter. A small shard of Tom Riddle's remaining soul clutched to her as well. They, together, formed a lightning scar, just like the one caused by the killing curse that hit the unconscious Hadrian Potter. Hestia Potter was later lifted up as she screamed, and with her scar on full display, proclaimed the girl-who-lived. If you've forgotten what happened to Hadrian, please read the first chapter.
