~No Regrets~

Gilbert was leaving his dorm from the University of Toronto, he was all packed, and ready to go back home for winter brake.

Meanwhile, Anne was a wreck, she wanted to look nice for Gilbert's arrival.

"Anne, Gilbert is still going to love you no matter what you wear", said her bosom friend, Diana.

"But what if he found someone better?, what if he realized he doesn't need me anymore?", Anne practically yelled.

"Fiddlesticks", laughed Diana, "I am sure everything is going to be fine", she reassured.

And with that Anne was a little less nervous.

Anne was waiting at the train station when she saw the train coming by...

She scanned every single person tying to fin Gilbert, where is he she thought?

She stood up, and started looking through the station, as she did that she was startled by Gilbert, which he had sneaked up on Anne to scare her.

When Anne looked at him, she jumped into his arms and hugged him.

Gilbert got into the hug and smiled.

As they slowly got out of the hug, they both said at the same time, "I missed you", they shared a little laugh.

"So..., started Anne, How was your ride?"

"It was long, but worth it", said Gilbert looking passionately at Anne.

Anne smiled and added, "Well we better get you to aunt Jo's, to settle you in."

Anne and Gilbert cached up with their lives, as they went to Aunt Jo's house.

The plan was to have dinner all of them together, Anne, Gilbert, Cole, and of course, Aunt Jo.

When they got there they were greeted nicely, Anne sat down with Aunt Jo in the parlor, while  Cole showed Gilbert the room were he was staying.

"So, how do you feel that Gilbert's here?", asked curiously Aunt Jo.

"I am really happy he is back, I missed him dearly"

After some minutes Gilbert and Cole joined them.

When dinner was ready, they all went into the dining room, and ate a delicious supper, Gilbert was the one talking the most, since everyone was curious how the future doctor was doing, he talked about his studies, and medicine, "the problem is that many people at the University of Toronto, still don't accept the ideas of using nature as a medicine", this caught Anne's attention.

Suddenly out of nowhere she felt sad and sick, so she said, "I am sorry, but I don't feel well, may I me excused"

Aunt Josephine nodded, as Cole and Gilbert exchanged a look, they all knew something was wrong, so Gilbert stud up, and followed her.

Gilbert found Anne outside, in Aunt Josephine's garden.

"Anne, what's wrong", said Gilbert gently.

"I-I don't feel well", said Anne avoiding we contact.

"Come on Anne, you know you can talk to me..."

Anne sighed, "fine, I feel guilty"

"Guilty?, why?, said Gilbert raising an eyebrow.

"Because, you gave your dream, for me!, i don't even know why you did that", said Anne holding up some tears.

"Oh Anne, I am sorry if I made you think that talking about- Anne interrupted him.

"Gilbert, be honest, so you wish you could be at the Survone?

"Well...yes but-

"You see Gilbert, you made a mistake!, you should have stayed with Winifred"

"Anne listen to me, please...yes I do wish to be at the Survone, but if being at the Survone means not having you, then it's not worth it."

"But the Survone is your dream!"

"No Anne you are my dream"

"Really Gilbert? You don't regret not staying with Winifred?"

"Not a bit, Winifred was a nice woman, but I made a mistake, because she wasn't you, Anne Sherly Cuthbert, I love you with all my heart, and always will"

Anne was smiling, the biggest smile ever, she realized that they had never actually said "I love you" in person, "I love you too, Gilbert Blythe"

And with that they shared a passionate kiss, both of them happy to have one and an other, with no regrets whatsoever.
