~When We Met~

It was winter break and Anne had gone back to Avonlea as well as her friends.

She had been spending most of her vacations with Diana and Gilbert.

Today she had plans with Gilbert, he was supposed to come pick Anne up, and then he was going to show her his surprise.

A few moments later Gilbert knocked on the door, and Anne came down really exited about Gilberts surprise.

As she opened the door, Gilbert greeted her with a beaming smile, "Hello Anne, are you ready for my surprise?"

"I sure am!"

"Ok then, follow me...", and with that they grabbed hands and Gilbert led the way.

As they walked, Anne and Gilbert admired the woods, they had forgotten how pretty they were.

Anne began to recognize the path, and then Gilbert stopped, Anne was very confused on why they were here, "Um, Gilbert, why are we here?, I mean we are on the path right in front of the school..."

Gilbert looked at her, "Do you remember anything that happened here?"

As Anne thought, she began to realize, she gasped.

"This is were I first met you", Gilbert said now holding both of Anne's hands.

"Oh Gilbert!, i remember, you asked me if you could slay any other dragons!, and they both laughed.

"Let's go inside", and Gilbert led the way.

As they got in, Gilbert opened the door for Anne just like the first day they met.

And right there, on Anne's desk was a cake, "A cake?", asked Anne again confused.

"Not just any kind of cake", responded Gilbert.

"It's carrot cake!, oh Gilbert!, said Anne laughing again.

"Want a bite?", as they sat together and shared the cake Gilbert spoke, "Anne I never really apologized for teasing you, and I am so sorry for doing it."

Anne gave him a thankful smile, "It's water under a bridge."

After some time Anne spoke up again, "There are so many memories here, like the spelling bee that I won"

Gilbert laughed, "What can I say, I should have added an E!"

Anne laughed as well, "Yes you should have!", then she added, "See right there, were we danced together, that was when I started to realize my feelings for you."

"Funny how a little dance made us realize that", said Gilbert looking at Anne.

After talking for a wile Gilbert said, "There is one more place that I want to show you, but for that you need to put on a blind fold."

It had been around twenty minutes since Gilbert had taken Anne to the last place, but at last they were there.

"We are here...", said Gilbert as he took Anne's blind fold.

"This is beautiful Gilbert...but why here?...", asked Anne a little confused.

Yes, they were at the cliff, it was a little later than the afternoon and the sun was seating off, so the sky was beautiful, with pink and orange colors everywhere.

"I mean, I've been here before, of course, but we've never actually been here before", continued Anne.

Gilbert looked deep at Anne with hatred eyes, and after a while he spoke up, "This is were I came when I was struggling with my feelings for you... When I came here, I was sure and certain that you, Anne Sherly Cuthbert, are my true love.", he finished with a big loving smile in his face, "And now looking at you right now, I know I was right..."

"Oh Gilbert, I don't know what to say!...", she had tears in her eyes.

"Do you...feel the same...?", asked Gilbert now with worry in his eyes.

"Of course I do! I love you dearly Gilbert Blythe!", exclaimed Anne jumping into Gilbert's arms.

Gilbert felt relive and best of all, like the happiest man on earth!

After they embraced themselves for a wile, they pulled away and locked each other in their eyes, admiring each other, thinking to themselves, how on earth did I end up with such a wonderful person?, and then their lips joined and they pulled into a long passionate kiss.
