Chapter 17

"Alright boys," I say, twisting my hair into a bun. "Let's get serious." The explosions continue on the force field.

"Guys we need help evacuating the city," Steve commands through the coms.

       Once we get everyone to safety, we all come together on a large field. Multiple Wakandan tribes stood alongside us. Bruce, who normally turned into some kind of giant green guy, was in a large suit that resembled Tony's. I sigh and mentally face palm as he trips and rolls, trying to assure us he's ok.

"I got 2 heat signatures breaking through the tree line," Rhodey informs.

"Finally, something helpful," I mumble to Bucky. He elbows my torso lightly.

"Be nice," He smiles. Hundreds more soldiers arrive and fall in behind us. Steve, Bucky, Nat, T'Challa, and I stood in the front of the army. The Wakandans all started chanting something in their language. I had picked up some of the language, but I'm far from fluent in it. T'Challa walked away to thank M'Baku, who I had become quite close with during my time in Wakanda, for joining in the fight. I smile at him and send him a small wave, which he returns. When I look back up, Steve and Nat, who I hadn't even seen leave, were returning and there was two alien-looking creatures standing at the barrier.

"They surrender?" Bucky asks.

"Not exactly," Steve sighs.

"She's still mad because I killed her little boyfriend," Nat shrugs.

"Aw you broke her wittle heart," I fake pout. The soldiers start chanting again. The trees start rustling, and that's when I notice them. Hundreds of creatures were sprinting towards the barrier. "Holy shit," I mutter.

"What the hell?" Bucky asks at the same time as me.

"You guys really pissed her off," I exaggerate the really.

"Looks like we did," Nat agrees. The creatures charge the force field, sometimes getting a limb through which would get severed my the barrier. Eventually, however, some start getting in. The second the first one enters, we open fire. I shoot one of my arrows, the one that splits into 3. It takes out 3 creatures, each arrow hitting one in the head. I continued using my variety of arrows, doing everything I can to contribute to the fight. However, it suddenly stopped. The creatures seemed to be running away.

"Cap, if these things circle the perimeter and get in behind us, there's nothing between them and vision," Bruce informs.

"Then we better keep them in front of us," Steve says.

"How do we do that?" Okoye asks.

"We open the barrier," T'Challa says. "On my signal, open North-West Section Seventeen"

"Requesting confirmation, my king," a voice says through his com. "You said open the barrier?"

"On my signal," He confirms.

"This will be the end of Wakanda," M'Baku realizes.

"Then it will be the noblest ending in history." Okoye adds, power behind each word. Steve equips his shield, and each of us raise our respected weapons, preparing for the fight of our lives. T'Challa shouts something in Xhosa, causing the soldiers to drop their shields.

"Wakanda forever!" T'Challa shouts, causing us all to shout with him. We all run towards the barrier, T'Challa, Bucky, Steve, and I were all running ahead of the group due to our inhanced speed. "Now!" I hear T'Challa shout. Seconds later, a small section of the barrier disappeared, and the creatures instantly started piling in. I immediately start shooting as fast as I can, taking out any creatures I saw "How much longer, Shuri?" T'challa asks through our coms.
