Authors Note:As I said in the previous part, I'm gonna try a first person perspective for this chapter. I'm still crazy new at writing fanfiction and just writing stories in general so any tips and constructive criticism are greatly appreciated
I began to turn back around to head to class. I heard my mom call out again "Love you hun! Don't forget your umbrella!" Excited to get to class, I kept walking while turning my head to the side to say goodbye.
"You too! I won't" I called back before turning to face forward. Before I could react, I walked right into someone, slamming my beak into their bag.
I stumbled back, falling on my butt. I rubbed my beak wondering what happened. I opened my eyes to see a girl in a grey hoodie and jeans laying with her face on the pavement.
Oh shoot, I must have bumped into her. I hope she's ok! I thought as I stood up to go check on her. She was starting to sit up. She was obviously confused as to what happened.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! I was being careless and I bumped into you! Are you okay!" I said as I helped her sit up.
"Ugh.. yeah I think so.. kero.. how about you" she said. She had her hand on her head and was clearly still a bit dazed.
"I'm fine! I'm more worried about you. I think you hit your head." I said in a concerned tone.
"I managed to break the fall with my hands so I should be fine." the girl said.
"Whew, I'm glad you are ok. Here let me help you up" I reached my hand toward her and she went to grab it. The moment she grabbed it though, she winced away in pain. Oh no did I hurt her I thought as I looked at my hand. I saw a red spot on it and gasped.
"Oh my gosh your hand is bleeding! Here I should have some Band-Aids in my bag"
I quickly put my bag down in front of me and opened the front pocket. There was a little plastic box with some very basic first aid supplies. Oh thank goodness it's here. I thought as I grabbed the box out of my bag. My mom always made me carry stuff like this to treat small scratches and scrapes while she couldn't be with me. I was very thankful about that in this moment. I opened the box and grabbed a small cotton pad."Here. Hold it against the cut to stop the bleeding" she grabbed it with her good hand, took a deep breath and pressed it against the cut.
I could hear her sharply inhale, probably from touching the wound. "Hey it's gonna be ok. It's gonna hurt a bit but you have to hold it there while I get the bandage." I saw her nod out of the corner of my eye, tears starting to well up in her eyes.
I found a bandage buried at the bottom of the box. I quickly opened the packaging and held it over the cut.
"Ok, remove the pad, and I will apply the bandage. Ok?" She was clearly a bit worried but she nodded and removed the pad. Finally getting a good look at the cut, I was relieved to see it wasn't that bad and had stopped bleeding.
I softly, but firmly applied the bandage, making sure it would stick. I sighed, relieved that I had helped her.
"Okay, you should be fine now. Just be careful with using that hand today." I sat down next to her as she was still a bit shaken.
"Th..thank you. I'm sorry I got in your way.. Kero" she apologized hanging her head.
"No. It's my fault in the first place that you fell. I wasn't watching where I was going" I responded calmly, not wanting her to blame her self. "I'm the one who should be apologising."
She wiped away her tears and met my gaze. "Thank you.. uhh.." she stuttered.
I realized we never properly introduced."I'm Fumikage Tokoyami" I said, giving her a small smile. She returned the smile. "My name is Tsuyu Asui. But I go by Tsu.. Kero"
