chapter nineteen

"You're ain't good cutest"(the name he refers me as)
   "Seriously!I'm good"I voiced with a smile that didn't reached my eyes but only danced with my mouth.
   "You're lying cutest"
  My God! this man knows me more than I know myself.The first day I met him was few months after mom passed away,I came back from islamiyya being so angry because I was beaten by the school headmaster.
   Walked into the parlour and met Aunt with a visitor, without doing salama or greeting the visitor I took the stair hearing the stranger asking if I'm Humairah and aunt answered with yes.
   She ain't herself that is why she passed without saying hi.....you know when you lost your mama at young age.....she tried to explain to him, because what I did showed some lack of respect according to we Hausa.
    I entered into my room and sat on the bed not bothering to removed my blue long hijab, looking a real bad-tempered hellion.
   "What happen humairah!"out of the blue I heard aunt's voice.
   I raised my eyes and looked into hers,it showed that she wanted to asked why I passed without greeting the stranger but she kept quiet knowing the fact that this little thing can make me cry and she hate it(the Pampered kid😁but not anymore😭😭😭).
   Before you know it tears started pouring down my face."humairah"she perched on the bed and hold my hand pressing it."keep quiet dear"pressing my hand a little bit harder.
   "Tell me! what happened"
   Aunt yo.............my words were choked on my mouth then tears came sobbing.                      
"Relax and tell me what happened"
   "We were sitting in the class when the headmaster came in with a new tauhid teacher,the man started introducing himself using a terrible English instead of hausa,khairat and hauwa(my seat partners)started laughing...so the headmaster asked us to come out,I told him I wasn't among but he went ahead and gave the three of us four lashes of cane each"I burst into a loud cry.
