08: Hold Me in Your Arms Tonight
“So exactly where are you going?”
“To my friend's house to study," I tell my mother.
“At ten on a school night?" She asks, raising an eyebrow.
I groan. “Yes. Andy said he would drive me," I tell her.
“Andy isn't driving anybody anywhere,” he calls from the living room. He has a friend over. Liam is one of Andy's only close friends. Although, I really will never understand how they even became friends. They are complete opposites. Liam is a goody-two-shoe, and then there's Andy, who is anything but good.
I roll my eyes and stalk over to him. "You said you would take me!" I shout at him.
Liam grins at me. "Your little sister is trying to get an education and you're trying to stop her?" He asks Andy. "Shame on you!" He scolds.
Andy groans. "Fine! I'll take you."
"Thank you, Andy," our mother says to him. "I have to go for my second shift. I want you back before eleven," she tells me. "I'll be home at around one. If either of you aren't here, you're both in trouble."
"Yes mother," Andy tells her.
"Good. Now, I have to go or I'll be late," she says, kissing my cheek and then Andy's forehead. "Make sure you feed your sister! And Liam, sweetie, stay as long as you want! You're welcome to spend the night if you like."
"That's okay Ms. Samuels! Have a nice time at work!" Liam tells her with a smile.
She returns the gesture and puts her coat on in a rush. "Bye! Love you!" She calls as she runs out the door. The door closes and locks as I make my way over to sit in front of the television.
Andy turns to me. "So where are you really going?" He asks.
"To my friend’s house," I answer.
Andy rolls his eyes. "What friend?"
I pause, trying to think of somebody. "Umm, Ashley."
"Liar."
"Is it that boy you've been talking to?" Liam asks.
I freeze. "How do you know about Aston?" I ask him.
He smiles sweetly. "Andy told me."
I roll my eyes. "Really?" I ask my brother. "He's just my friend."
"I know, but you know how I love to gossip," he answers with a smirk.
I sigh. "I'm not going to see him," I tell them.
"Good because if you we're I would have made sure to have a little talk with him."
I roll my eyes. "You're so annoying."
He smirks. "It's my job." He shifts his position and his facial expression changes to a serious one. "It's also my job to keep you safe. So tell me, where are you really going?"
I sigh. I might as well tell him the truth. "To Zayn's."
He raises his eyebrows. "For what?" He asks.
"Did you two break up?" Liam asks.
"Yes we did," I answer Liam then turn to Andy. "And because he asked me to come over."
"Why? You're dating him again?”
I shake my head. “He said he wants to talk.”
“When did he say that?” Andy asks.
