"Hermione?"
A high, lilting voice called out her name. Upon hearing it, the witch turned around and came face-to-face with a brunette.
"Bella?"
"Mhmm!"
This woman was nothing like the Bella Hermione remembered. Bella was always pretty in her own way, but this person was gorgeous. Absolutely stunning. She held an air of confidence she never had before, and her eyes seemed... different.
Hermione's eyes landed on a figure next to Bella; Charlie.
"Hey, Hermione," he waved.
"Hi Charlie." She looked back at the rest of her group. "This is Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, Ron and Ginny Weasley, Harry Potter-Malfoy and Draco Malfoy."
After a few awkward introductions, the large group shuffled out of the airport.
"We'll have to split up," Charlie said gruffly. "Not enough space on the cruiser."
Mr. and Mrs. Weasley and Ginny went into the cruiser, and the rest of them followed Bella to her car.
When Bella stopped in front of a Mercedes, Hermione was quite surprised.
"A Mercedes, Bella?" Hermione raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow. "I never thought you would drive something so flashy."
Bella just sighed and unlocked the door. "My husband got it for me. I used to have a red Chevy."
Harry laughed. "I feel you, Draco is always spoiling me with expensive gifts."
"It's because I love you, you idiot."
Hermione smiled a bit at the bantering and slid into the passenger seat. Ron, Harry, and Draco settled into the back, not even bothering to put on their seat belts. Bella didn't seem to mind. She either didn't catch it, or was very confident in her driving. The first, Hermione assumed.
"So, how have you been?" Bella asked awkwardly. "It's been a while."
"I'm good, you?"
"Me too. So what do you do these days?"
"I work in the British government," Hermione lied smoothly. "Human rights activist."
"And the three of you?" Bella glanced back at the trio of boys.
"I have a seat in the parliament," Draco recited automatically.
"Detective for the police force," Ron shrugged.
"A professor," Harry said. "What about you, Bella?"
"Oh, well nothing too interesting. I work at a lab. Biology. How are your parents, Hermione?"
The rest of the car ride was filled with easy conversations and the occasional banter. Hermione found that it was easy to make conversation with Bella; they were alike in many ways they had not noticed when they were children.
"Here we are," Bella stopped in front of a huge, very expensive looking house. "The Cullen home."
"Bloody hell," Ron murmured. He tilted his head back to look up at the second story.
"This is a beautiful house," said Draco.
"Thank you." A beautiful, caramel-haired woman smiled at them kindly. "Esme Cullen, Bella's mother-in-law."
