Chapter 10: The *Genius*

Boruto's pov

I woke up early in the morning and wear my mission gear. It was my first mission with my teammates after a long time. I still feel uneasy about the fact that Sasuke Sensei is back at the village. To make things worse they are spying on me just to know my actual background. If they found out I would be in a Big trouble.

I quickly took my cloak with me and left.
'What if dad guessed that the story I tell was a lie and tried to hunt me down...... Just knocking out highly skilled ANBU who were there and erase their memories was already hard enough. I was only lucky that most of them aren't moving because of that man's weird technique.'
Before I know it I was already in front of the gate of Aun. (I think that's what you called it?!) I register at the counter and walked into the Leaf Village.

'It could be bad if Sensei really resort to using his Mangekyou Sharingan on me. If he finds out and told my dad I would need to hide again. Which is pretty bad since my hideout is already found out. I didn't even get the chance to erase memories of other villages. If the Chunin exams is ongoing I will need to change my appearance. Ugh! This is so frustrating! Why does this always happens to me!' I yelled In my mind.

"Hey! I finally found you!" A voice snapped me out of my daze.

'Shit! I totally forgot about Shikadai's rampage last night!"

But before I could even run Shikadai already tackle hug me to the ground.
"S-Shikadai-Sama pls calm down this is embarrassing! We're out on the streets!!!" I yelled into Shikadai's ear as the citizens stare at us.
"Oh! Sorry I got excited!" Shikadai said getting off of me and offered me a hand.
"More like too excited..." I added to Shikadai's sentence.
I grab his hand and got up while I pat the dust off of my cloak.
"What did you just called m-Why are you wearing a cloak?"
"More importantly, Why do you literally hug me, first thing in the morning and on the freaking streets!"
"Oh! That's right. Boruto I have to tell you something!"
"I thought I told you I'll get my own apartment..." Boruto said sweat-dropped.
"No, it's something even better!"
'Huh?' Boruto thought to himself.
"You actually get to stay in the Hokage's household free of charge since they had a spare room!"
I almost lose my composure and yelled, "Nani?!"
The citizens started staring at us again.
"Uhh... let's go to a more quieter place." I said and dragged Shikadai with me to an alley.
"Okay, now I said that I was going to live in my own apartment!" I yelled at Shikadai because the chance of me to blew my cover just got higher.
"What's wrong?" Shikadai asked confuse by my response.
"EVERYTHING is wrong! I-I can't just own the freaking Hokage's room and live in his house like it was nothing! It was the freaking Seventh Hokage's house and I the Hokage lookalike will live there! What if the citizen confused me as his son, ya know!" I yelled out loud worrying about the ninjas and citizens remembering my identity and maybe those ninjas who hate me will take advantage of my current state.
"Well it's ok you can stay there until you have enough money to buy the apartment. You don't have enough money do you?" Shikadai said innocently.
'Even when you are clueless you can still be a genius Shikadai..." I thought as I face palmed myself.
"What the hell do I have to do with you..."
I mumbled under my breath in defeat.
"I'll go to the training ground now see ya." I told Shikadai as I left him.

Shikadai's pov

'He really does act strange." I thought as I saw Boruto walked away.

Flashbacks

"Huh?!" I yelled out loud.
"Shh! Be quiet! We don't want anybody to find out!" Shikamaru hissed.
"So lemme get this straight. You think he may be related to what that happened half a year ago?!" Shikadai said shocked that Boruto could be the dangerous person who managed to knock the Hokage and the strongest Uchiha out.
"Yes. And since it was cleared that he was trying to erase his identity, it will be a good idea to put him under Naruto surveillance. If he acts strange about living in the Hokage's house, no matter how good the excuse may be we will brand him as a suspect." Shikamaru said.
"Look. This is an important S-ranked mission that only YOU can do for me and report to me after you're finish immediately!" Shikamaru said to his son.
