I stood in the black abyss. I was glowing from an inner light, making my skin seem translucent. I held up my hand up in front of my face, turning it, watching in a trance as a glowing copper flame swirled around it.

I didn't know where the flame was coming from, but it didn't burn me, though it was warm, sending tingles down to the ends of my fingers tips.

My whole body thrummed with energy like I was on a high, making me feel lightheaded and dizzy.

I looked around, trying to figure out where I was and what the hell I was doing there. The faint smell of smoke and burning flesh rode the air around me.

I looked around me, but I still couldn't see anything but empty darkness. The smell grew strong, creating a thick film on the back of my throat, choking me as I struggled to breathe.

Blood curdling screams filled my ears and I collapsed in pain, clutching the sides of my head with both hands. The screams pierced the deepest parts of my mind, echoing like an empty cave.

I rocked on my knees, clawing savagely at my ears, begging for it to stop. The pain was sharp, like a knife being driven into my eardrums. A mewling sound escaped my lips as the pain crippled me.

The flame around my hands burned with brilliance, spreading up my arms until it engulfed my entire body. It licked just above my translucent skin, growing brighter. I felt the energy that pulsated through my body, begin to push against my walls.

The screams continued to grow louder. I couldn't breathe or see past the bright light of the flame. The more pain I felt, the stronger the light grew.

As the energy pushed harder against me and I pushed with it. I didn't know why I pushed, but the overwhelming urge was too strong to fight. Both the energy and I pushed against the walls of my body.

My inner light grew brighter as my whole body flowed with tingles like pins and needles. I felt the energy brake over my skin with such force that it flung my arms out wide. A blinding white light exploded out of me like my body was a white hot ball of light. I closed my eyes as the light exploded outwards towards the darkness.

I woke to find myself in the middle of a circle of destroyed trees. A small shred of my silk camisole top clung to a charred, broken branch, a meter away from where I stood, naked.

"What the fuck happened," I whispered.

"You exploded," said a familiar voice. I turned to find Cain and Frost standing amongst the wreckage. Cain wore long, black cotton pants, leaving his tanned muscled chest bare. Frost stood to his side in lime green satin boxes and a tight black singlet. A bloody gash ripped through the left side of his chest.

"I exploded? How the fuck did I explode out here in the middle of the fucken bush?" I asked. It made no sense.

"I don't know how you exploded, but I heard you outside my window, in the yard. So I called out to Lycaon and we followed you into the bush," explained Frost. He ran his fingers through his short, messy white bed hair. Even with all that what was happening, I still noticed how good he looked.

Cain stepped forward. "Your whole body lit up like a ball of white light, but you were covered in a copper flame. I have never seen anything like it," he said.

I looked down at my body, there was nothing covering me now and I suddenly noticed how very naked I was. Heat flushed to my cheeks as I helplessly tried to covered myself. Hanging on to whatever modesty I had left. A black singlet appeared in front of me. Frost held it out to me, holding my gaze. The perfect gentleman. "Thanks," I said. He nodded.

I hurried into it, pulling it down over my butt. I would have to hold it there, to prevent it from riding up.

I looked over to Cain to find amusement written all over his face. "What?" I asked giving him a sideways glance. He grinned, shaking his head. I couldn't help but smile with him. I guess it did look silly.

I turned back to Frost, who stood shirtless. The gash on his chest was just a bloody smear. The wound had healed completely. I stepped forward, looking closer. I started to extend my hand to touch it, to see if it was real. But Frost gently grabbed my hand. I looked up into those pale silver eyes. "I'm fine," he said, in his deep growling voice. It was a little thicker than usual.

"Us werewolves don't let a little cut bother us, we heal superhuman fast," said Cain. "We should get you back to the house, and into something a little warmer."

I hadn't even felt the cold air, until Cain mentioned it. I was suddenly cold and shaky. It felt like I had just sprinted a half marathon. Goosebumps covered every inch of my pale skin. I looked at the men to see not one goose bump on them. I nodded and started to carefully pick my way through the broken and charred branches of the unfortunate trees I had destroyed.
