I must've been seven or eight when I first saw them. My sister and I were still sharing a room, only now hers was over by the door, facing our window, and mine was tucked in the corner up against the wall. We'd also gotten rid of the red clock and my sister had a green one and I had a blue one (different alarm times).
Before we started clothes pinning our curtains shut, the moonlight would spill in hit a portion of the floor right next to my sister's bedpost. If I looked in that area, I would see a little ghostly figure pacing back and forth in the moonlight. I called it the Moon-Walking Man. I don't know why.
If I shifted my gaze to the bedpost itself, I would often see the orange of a fox tail whipping around the bed. Just the tail. Never anything else.
I never figured out what I was seeing. I was never really scared of them much, but it did unnerve me.
Was it just my imagination? Did I actually see something? Was it some weird hallucination? I don't know. Anything could be an explanation at this point.
