They Heard Someone Say "Hi"

A few years ago, my sister was home alone. The rest of us weren't supposed to be home for a long while yet. She heard someone say "Hi, [sister's name]." (Although now she denies that she heard her name and I'm apparently the only one who who remembers her telling us that she heard her name.)

On June 14 this year, my mom told us that she'd heard someone who wasn't there say "Hi". She didn't share any other details than the fact that she knew she was alone.

I've heard so many voice-type things that this sort of thing doesn't even faze me. In fact, just this morning, I was hearing little cat mews and assumed it was just me hearing things again when my mom said that our cat was regretting going into the basement. (The door was closed so that when the workers are here she doesn't get under their feet.) Which led to me saying that I didn't even realize it was real meows because of all the times lying in bed with the door closed and both cats firmly outside and hearing a meow right in my ear. Or sometimes I hear my mom's voice. Nothing coherent, but definitely her voice. Usually though, I just hear a random, ambiguous voice speaking what sounds like random muttered syllables. So if I've ever heard someone say "Hi" like this, I wouldn't know.
