Okay, so this story, although it was terrifying at the time, has become my absolute favorite story ever:
Our possessed microwave! :D
I was twelve-ish? I don't know. I didn't pay much attention to when it occurred. I do remember we were already on microwave number two when it happened! :)
It was a Sunday evening sometime in fall or winter. Either me or my dad had something in the microwave and all of a sudden, it stopped spinning but kept counting down. My parents were shouting at me to turn it off because I was the closest, but I panicked and didn't know what to do so one of my siblings did it instead. We tried it again. Same thing happened. My mom opened it and took whatever was in there out, but before she could close it, it started up all on its own! DUN DUN DUN
We ended up having to unplug the microwave after it started up on its own another one or two times. We made sure to get a new one the next day.
Ever since, we've referred to it as our "possessed microwave". I love the idea of a microwave being possessed, and I love telling the story, so here you go! The microwave was likely just broken, but I've gotten consensus from some of my friends that starting up on its own definitely sounds more "possessed" than "broken".
