chapter vii, episode iii ☆

"Hey, Liam?"

The young man peered up at his sister, a book in one hand and the other balancing a cup of tea on the arm of the sofa. When he saw the innocent look on her face, a look he recognised all too well, he raised his eyebrows, "okay, what do you want?"

Teagan fiddled with her hands and glanced down at the floor before looking up again. "Well, Erin is having a sleepover tonight and-"

"Teagan, you know you're still grounded after getting yourself and the Quinns banned from the chippy."

"And setting it on fire." Niall chimed in from the kitchen, which was an open area that connected onto the living room.

"Who asked you?" Teagan snapped, glaring at the middle child, "and you make it sound so much worse than it was. We only burned Fionnula's living room a little bit." She measured a "a little bit" by making a gap between her index finger and thumb. Niall put his hands up in defence, letting out a chuckle before walking out of the room with the sandwich he had just made.

"It doesn't matter. You're still grounded." Liam declared before turning back to his book. He didn't get very far as the young teen pleaded her case.

"But Liam, you don't understand. Erin's having a study sleepover, so we can all revise for our History exam tomorrow. Li, come on. You know I concentrate better in a group." She begged, throwing in puppy dog eyes for good measure.

The eldest O'Sullivan sibling let out a sigh, folding the corner of his page and closing his book before looking up at Teagan, "I suppose if it's for school purposes, you can go."

Teagan's lips pulled into a triumphant grin, "thank you, Liam. You're a star." She kissed him on the cheek and began skipping out of the room, only to be stopped by Liam.

"Ah, hold your horses." She stopped in her tracks and turned to look at her brother as he stood from the sofa and walked over to put his empty mug in the sink, "who's going to be at this sleepover?"

"Just everyone in our little friend group. Like always." Teagan explained slowly, confused by the question. She'd had the same group of friends since primary school, she expected him to know who it consisted of.

Liam narrowed his eyes at her and crossed his arms over his chest, "and what about that wee English fella? Will he be there too?"

Teagan rolled her eyes, finally realising why he was acting so weird. "Yes, Liam, James will be there. He's Michelle's cousin, and he's part of our group now."

"And you'll be sleeping in the same room?"

The redhead let out a groan, throwing her head back in annoyance, "probably, but Erin, Orla, Michelle and Clare will be sharing the same room as well. And I don't even like James like that, so you've nothing to worry about."
