Midas rolled his eyes at the comment as my face was stricken with horror and Skye went completely pale. We both panicked on the inside but forced ourselves to stay quiet. We both watched Midas as he kept his strength but he looked tired and miserable.
The blood on his shirt was dried but the blood on his face was still fresh, occasionally dripping from his chin onto what part of his neck and chest was exposed. His hands were bound behind his back and there was a gash on his neck from where they had destroyed his barcode.
Shadow Midas then left him alone in the room, while Midas sat there and sighed to himself. I watched him stare blankly into nothing.
"Midas," I whispered, and his ears perked.
"Midas, the vent," and he looked over and squinted.
"Y/n?" He asked in a very confused voice.
"Yes, we're here to save you," I said.
"You need to leave. It's not safe for anyone to be here," He said seriously.
"No. We're here to get you out," I said and began to undo the vent to get him out of his restraints.
""Y/n! I'm serious! Get your ass back in the vent and go back home," He almost shouted. I didn't listen, and continued to lower myself from the partially open vent. His eyes were full of anger and horror.
"Y/n they will kill you on the spot if they see you," He said, "or keep you alive and torture you."
I walked over and lowered myself to his eye level.
"You saved me, now I will save you," I said sternly, and locked the door shut and began to barricade the door.
"Leave." He said.
"No."
"Y/n, please go. I can't watch you get hurt," He said, "I'm begging you to go back home."
"Midas, you can't die while I'm still alive."
"You can't die while I'm still alive," He said in an upset tone.
"We will both be okay, I'll get you out of your restraints and we'll go, okay?" I said.
"Y/n there's no hiding from them."
"You need to start acting more brave," I said, kind of worrisome. If Midas was afraid then something really is wrong. Skye sat at the vent and kept it open as I got behind Midas and began to cut the ropes that held his gloved golden hands together.
The ropes fell to the floor and Midas's hands were free.
"Come on, let's go," I said. He sat there and stared, saying nothing.
"Midas? Come on, get in the vent and we'll go," I said. He continued to do nothing.
"Midas-"
"Y/n, they're going to flood the world."
"What?" I asked.
"They're going to force me to flood the world so I make Ghost look bad," He said.
"I don't understand...."
"They are going to force me to flood the entire world under Ghost's name. It's their plan to make it seem like I'm getting revenge on Jules and Shadow."
"If their plan works the way they want it to, they'll kill all of us no matter what. So why don't you come with us and risk it all together?" I said and he thought about it for a few seconds.
"Okay." He said firmly. He began to help me get into the vent and I grabbed his hands to help him get into it, but the handle of the door shook. We looked at each other in fear as the handle shook and the tables and chairs that had barricaded the door began to tumble. I handed Midas one of my guns and he swiftly tried to get into the vent. The sounds of Shadow members could be heard shouting behind the door either at each other or Midas, threatening for the door to open or else. With just a few seconds left, Midas crawled into the vent with all of us and we began to put the vent door back to where it was. We crawled as fast and quiet as possible to where we came from originally but we heard the door open and someone shouting in the small interrogation room.
