Chapter 3

As the rest of the agents filed into the lounge, Midas sat closer to me enough that I could feel his solid legs against mine. 

"So y/n, I heard you were in a match today?" Tina asked from the other side of the lounge.

"Yeah, it was actually kind of scary," I laughed, "but luckily I had protection so nothing happened to me. Midas, on the other hand, got brutally killed." The team laughed and Midas blushed. 

"I did not get 'brutally killed', I just got shot like I always do." He corrected. 

"Oh but I insist, you sounded like you were suffering," I teased once more and the team laughed again. He rolled his eyes and laughed. I felt pretty comfortable being around him already which could either be good or bad. I'd rather think of it as good. 

"I see you two are flirting already," Skye said, smiling with her legs crossed comfortably on the large couch. 

"We're not flirting, she's just witty," Midas corrected with a stern voice. 

"Whatever. So y/n, do you wanna be shown around here?" Skye asked.

I replied, "Sure! I've only seen the vaults, pretty entertaining."

"Come on, let's go," She said, looking at everyone else. 

"I think I'll join too." Said Maya right after.

We walked out of the lounge area and began to go up a few flights of stairs until we were on the dock of the yacht.

"So how are you liking it here?" Skye asked, turning her head to me as she began to lean on a rail. 

"It seems pretty cool. I've been getting along with everyone decently and it's not too awkward. I'm glad Midas wants us to all get to know each other." 

"I'm so glad to hear that, you seem like a really good fit with everyone. Especially with Midas." She said while raising a brow. 

"Yeah you two seem to hit it off," Maya said.

"He's pretty cool, he's extremely nice to me which I am thankful for because I'll be honest, I was worried I'd get stuck with some stuck up boss. But he seems pretty decent," I said while nodding my head. 

"He sure does flirt with you a lot," Maya said.

"Umm," I thought about how he put his hand on my thigh earlier, "he does every now and then, it doesn't bother me."

"So you like him?" Skye said with excitement in her voice. Maya gasped in a comedic way.

"As a boss, yes. I don't think I could have a crush on my own boss." I said.

"I mean it's totally fine if you do because if he likes you, he can't fire himself," Maya said. 

I thought about it for a second and then rebutted, "I don't think he likes me, I just think he's very playful. Maybe he just flirts with people a lot."

"Not exactly," Skye said while shaking a finger, "He's usually really bossy, per usual, but he has a different vibe towards you."

"I mean he did order me to drink my entire martini before everyone showed up," I admitted.

"He did what?!" Maya said, scoffing playfully after. 

"Yeah, he did, it was just jokes though," I said. 

"That's weird but funny, but listen, he drinks a lot. When we go back in, he might be trashed so beware if he says anything that might either offend or flatter you. I know it's not professional at all, but he's got issues." Maya said while Skye nodded simultaneously.
