___________________________Ty & Spence
"I want a fresh start, a complete do over, I want everything with you Spence. We don't ever gotta get married, because our kids are, but I wanna wake up next to you for the rest of my life. So yeah, pack a bag and come away with me..." Ty said, with his hand resting on Spencer's neck.
It was a week after the triplets were born and they were both in Spencer's living room. His divorce had been finalized, and they'd been dancing around each other since Ty's birthday months ago, and now Ty was all danced out.
"But the kids..." Spencer interrupted.
"The kids aren't kids no more, they gon be fine regardless. But we both miserable for what?"
"I don't know about this Ty."
Tyrone pulled his hand away and stepped back, as his expression hardened. "If you ain't into it, just say that and stop with the bullshit excuses."
Spencer frowned. "I have reasonable reservations! I can't just pack up and leave everything behind. I made commitments, to my job especially, I can't just leave my position for crying out loud."
"I ain't telling you to move to Asia or nothing, we're just gon be gone a month tops. You've given most of your adult life to that place, surely you can take some time off without the walls of the station crumbling to pieces." Ty hissed.
"I guess not, but it's easier said than done." Spencer protested, as he began to pace back and forth erratically. "This is too sudden, I have to talk to my kids, there are elements that have to be put in place at the station before i..."
"Spence!! please stop, just stop." Ty interrupted. He sighed and walked over to Spencer and kissed him, passionately.
When he pulled away Spencer's eyes were still closed, he seemed breathless. "I love you baby boy. You the love of my life, you know this..."
"Mine too—" Spencer chimed in, but Ty wasn't done.
"...and this trip is about us starting from somewhere to build our lives just like we was supposed to do all them years ago, for us to get a second chance to be happy. So..." he leaned and placed a chaste kiss on Spencer's lips once more. "So I'm gonna be at the bridge at noon on Friday. Just me, my car, and hope. If you show up then imma be the happiest man alive, but if you don't show up then we're done. For good this time." Ty concluded, with a tone that suggested he meant every word.
Spencer's head shot up, he was taken aback by that statement. "Come on Ty, that's not fair. You can't be seriou..."
"Look, show up or don't, but I ain't chasing after you no more. I'mma leave without you at 12:30, and then we done. I hope you show up." Ty commented, then turned around and walked out the front door without another utterance.
——
Spencer spent the next two days beating himself up, drawing up the pros and cons of taking this step. His mind, body and soul wanted nothing more than to be consumed by Tyrone, he wanted the man like the air that he breathed. But he was hesitant for a lot of reasons, one of them being that he couldn't lose his job, and he didn't know how his kids would react.
He knew for sure that Ty was serious about the ultimatum he'd issued, he knew him well enough to know that. Especially since he'd chosen the same bridge he was stood up at 22 years ago to meet now. Christ!
I'm so fucked.
