Colby's POV
I sit on the couch curled up in a little ball squeezing a pillow listening to sad songs. When I see Ashton in the corner of my eye, I thought it was a hallucination when I looked at her snuggling with Gabe, looking cute as hell.
"Ash! Is that you!" I ask
"I'm not here for you to explain I live here too," she says looking me straight in the eye with rage flaming from her eyes.
" Who's he?" I say
"Gabe, my boyfriend," she says pronouncing boyfriend clearer than the other words.
"Can I explain? I miss you," I ask looking down at my lap.
"Fuck no, I know exactly what happened," she says bouncing up and stomping towards me and slaps me across the face and runs upstairs for no reason. I freeze for a couple of seconds and Gabe walks over.
"Whatever you did to her she doesn't deserve to be treated like that!" He says running upstairs and trying to find Ash. I look down and feel tears run down my face.
Ashton's POV
I run upstairs into my room and start crying until a couple of seconds later I hear a knock, "Go away Colby!" I say
"I see your still not over him," Gabe says, I look towards him and he's leaning on the door.
"Okay, good it's you," I say relieved
"I think we should step this up," I say standing up from the bed and walking over to him.
"Like what?" He says with a seductive smile
"Kiss, call each other babe, say I love you, Y'know what the real couples do," I say walking past him and downstairs.
"Do you think you can do this? You know date your best friend?" He asks
" I am," I say walking downstairs and sit where I was yesterday
"Fuck you" I mumble, Colby looks over
"What did you say?" He says hoping I said Love you
"Nothing," I say and pecking Gabe
"I love you," Gabe says kissing me, I kiss back
" Get a room," Sam says from the kitchen
Colby's POV
I can't believe she would move on that quick, maybe I should try explaining again I thought
"Ash, can I just explain this time, it's not what you think," I say standing up holding a bag full of chocolates and candy,
" I'll take the candy but not you," ( I've always wanted to say that to someone) she says snatching the heart box out of my hand.
"Gabe, weren't you my tender greens waiter?" I say trying to get Ash mad at him.
" Yeah, it's a part-time job, why do you ask?" He says with a confused look
"N-Nothing," I lie
"Colby, you stutter when you lie," Jake says sitting next to me and looking at Instagram, when I look back at Gabe and Ash I notice Gabe checking Jake out, He's going to make Ash feel like shit once he dumps her.
"Why are looking at Jake like that?" I say trying to expose him
"Like what?" She says looking at Gabe
" Like he wants to date him," I say emphasizing date
"Be serious for a minute, he asked me out so he isn't gay or he didn't come out yet," I say looking at Gabe and seeing him looking at his knees.
" I'm tired," I say standing up and pulling Gabe with me and walking upstairs I stop on top of the stairs
"Is this true?"
Gabe's pov (couple minutes ago)
I scroll through Instagram until I see an object moving. I look up and see a guy, about 5"8, brown hair with the top half colored blue and the other half colored pink, I stare at him, Wait why am I staring at him? I keep on staring at him until Colby notices "Why are you looking at Jake that way?" He says. I try to say something until Ash says
" Like what?"
"As he wants to Date him," he says emphasizing Date.
"Be serious for a minute, he asked me out so he isn't gay or he didn't come out yet," Ash says and I look at my knees
" I'm tired," Ash says standing up and pulling me with her and walking upstairs she stops on top of the stairs and holds my hands.
"Is this true?" She says
"I-" I try to get a word out until she says
"Forget it," and walks over to her room but forgets to let go of my hand. I let go of my left hand but she doesn't so she drags me for a couple of seconds before she realizes she is then sighs
"I-I wasn't staring at h-him like that, I w-was just looking at his multicolored hair, I-I think i-it looks cool," I stuttered.
" Why did you stutter?" She says
" I don't know, maybe because you are either mad or happy when I'm around you!" I yell tugging my hand out of her grip, she's surprised at my harsh tone.
" I'm sorry, I didn't mean to raise my voice, it's the truth and it just all flowed out," I ramble resting my hands on her shoulders and looking down at her with filled eyes but not as much as Colby downstairs
"I just need you to go," she says looking down while my hands are still on her shoulders
"I will," I say walking downstairs looking down and opened the door until I heard a voice
"Hey, I think I've seen you before?" I turn around and see the multicolored hair guy
" You have? " I say closing the door behind me
"Yea, where do you work?" He says pointing a finger at me
"Tender greens, I work, Mondays, Thursdays, Wednesdays and the weekends 10a-6p," I say
" I saw you yesterday, I ordered a sandwich, and I was with Sam, the blonde guy, and Colby, the currently broken heart one," he says with a little chuckle at the end
"Not funny!" Colby yells and Jake groans with a little chuckle
" Oh yeah, I remember you," I say smiling
"I'm Jake by the way," Jake says not even a second later than the last sentence and reaching out his hand with black nails with it a little scraped off for me to shake it
"I should get going, I have work tomorrow," I say
" Give me your number so we can keep in touch, you seem like a cool person," he says handing me his phone to put mine in.
"See you later," I say walking out the door
"Bye," he said waving like a little kid
