dumplings | two

"y/n, we're leaving now." sugawara called out. my head snapped up, excited to finally leave. standing up, i happily skipped over to him.

"we can finally go home, right?" i asked, taking out my earbuds. he looked at me then grinned.

"i told you, the team is getting dumplings." he said, rubbing my head. my expression was drained of my smile, wanting to go home even more, now.

one of the boys from their team locked up the gym, then we all started to walk to a store. small chatters happened between the team. i saw a boy with orange hair talking with another guy but with black hair.

"why don't you talk to someone? you never socialize with people." sugawara said. i shook my head violently, not wanting to start a conversation with any of them. suddenly, that same boy with orange hair that i glanced at came over to me.

"hi, i'm hinata! you're sugawara's sister, right?" he asked. his voice was loud and cheery and he kept a smile on his face while talking.

"oh, yeah. you can call me y/n." i replied, just so that they wouldn't be calling me by the same name as my brother.

"okay! do you like volleyball, y/n?" hinata asked, jumping straight into a conversation.

"i'm not quite sure. i know a little bit about it because sugawara talks about it, but i've never played before." i responded. hinata seemed very excited to talk about volleyball.

"oh, you should try playing it some time, it's really fun! also, our team is looking for another manager—" hinata was cut off by a guy with short brown hair.

"here, hinata. there's multiple in that bag so give them to anyone who doesn't have one." the guy said. hinata nodded, took the bag from him, then turned back to me.

"do you want one?" hinata offered.

"no, it's fine." i kindly declined, shaking my hands. before the conversation could continue any longer, sugawara had came over to me.

"let's go home now, y/n." he said, motioning for me to come over. i nodded, then followed after him.

"bye, guys!" sugawara said, waving to the team as we walked away.

"bye y/n!" hinata called out, waving to me. i waved back, then turned back around.

"so, i see you talked with hinata." sugawara said, looking at me while walking.

"yeah. suga, what are all their names?" i asked. i don't know why, but i had an interest in their team.

"oh, well you already know hinata. then there's kageyama. he's the one with the black hair. then daichi, the team captain. he has short brown hair..." sugawara continued to introduce them all.

"and you already know tsukishima." he finished, counting on his fingers to make sure he didn't miss anyone.

"they all seem interesting." i said, remembering how much hinata and kageyama argued over little slip ups and how hyper tanaka and nishinoya was to see kiyoko, their team manager.

"yeah. we have a combination of different people on one team, but they're actually pretty good when it comes to volleyball. of course, we still have lots to work on." sugawara said, smiling a bit while talking about them.

"so, did you have a dumpling?" sugawara asked.

"no, i didn't feel like it." i said, shaking my head.

"you need to eat something, y/n!" sugawara exclaimed.

"don't worry, i'll eat at home." i reassured him, making sure he didn't get too worried about me. he really was like a mom. i wonder if he acted like that to the volleyball club too.
