Dinner

Recap:

We walked on the red carpet that made my feet in my shoes felt as though I was walking upon the clouds. After a few turns we arrived at a huge golden door that had two other guards at each side. Upon our arrival, they bow and greeted us. Soon after they opened the door and behind was another world.

I let my eyes wander like a lost soul until I saw my grandparents sitting in a well mannerly way awaiting the arrival of the royal. My eyes quickly went wandering again. As I stood there looking at the huge chandelier that hung from the ceiling with elegance I began to feel small due to the size of the room. The walls were painted dark brown with paintings of people I have never seen before. I slowly walked towards the paintings to get a closer look at them. I carefully looked at them and saw that they were all a part of the royal family from history until now. The current royal had the largest portrait at the end with their son still at a young age. I was a little confused as to why I haven't seen any with him at his current age. To think of it I haven't seen him since his fourteen birthday party. Since he refuses to have any more birthday parties. There must be a reason that warrants such prohibition from the young prince. According to the daily newspaper he has even enforced the law of anyone that who takes his photo will be arrested. Is he that ugly? I began to wonder which makes me ten times more curious to see him tonight since they will be having dinner with us.

After wandering around aimlessly I came to sit with my family and await the royal family's arrival. I began to lose my patience and was about to leave my seat to wander around again when the guard announced the arrival of his royal majesty. I quickly regained my sitting position and waited for him to be in sight. A few moments later my grandfather rose from his sit and so did everyone else to show respect for the royal family. Anxiety became my sitting partner as I awaited to see the prince but he never came as I anticipated him to. I became confused and was about to ask why the royal prince is not there.

"Your majesty your advisor has been waiting for you". Grandpa said with a very deep bow.

"As you may remember my wife Helena and my grandson Navin and his best friend Angel" we all bow as our names were introduced to his majesty and the Queen.

Her Majesty looked stunning with her blonde hair and green eyes and her blue dress that fitted her with ease and her diamond earring and huge diamond necklace and her white gloves. She is the definition of a true queen indeed. While the king wore a dark suit with the imperial cloth around his shoulder to his hip. Showcasing his royal status and power. He look very handsome with his dark hair and green eyes and breaded face which was neatly shaved along with his white gloves.

" Good evening lord Henry," Her royal highness said.

"Good evening to you. Your highness" my grandfather quickly responded.

The king and my grandfather began talking about the affairs and other important things which I had no clue of. My grandmother and the queen chatted for a brief moment and then turn to the two men talking away forgetting the rest of us.

"Forgive me, my queen," his majesty said.

"Let's have dinner and discussion the purpose of it please" her highness quickly responded and his majesty agreed immediately after hearing her words.

I was quickly reminded that my grandfather said that they wanted to talk to us about something important indeed. This quickly took all my curiosity away from the prince and focus more on the next word from the queen.

" Isn't prince Jake going to join us tonight?" my grandfather asked and I quickly looked at the queen awaiting a response.

"Henry you know how he is when it comes to meeting people who he doesn't know. It is not a problem for you since you practically watch him grow from small but you see we have a bit of the visitors tonight." Her highness said as she gestured towards us.

We slightly bowed to show respect and how honored we are to have dinner with the most powerful people in the Country and almost half of the world.

To my dissatisfaction, he never actually came indeed. Nevertheless, we spoke and have a wonderful dinner. Until the king once again announced the purpose of the dinner.

"Are you people willingly playing with my mind 'cause I'm very curious to know, but you keep mentioning it and somewhat indirectly" my conscience said to me.

" Lord Henry, you have worked for us for so long and we couldn't be more appreciative of you than we are. Therefore we wish to thank you wholeheartedly for your diligentness and loyalty to us. Your wish was if we were to ever gifted you with anything you said it should be towards your family. Therefore we wish to have your grandson and his best friend attain the highest quality of Education at the Royal School of Kensington. We decided that we allow his best friend to go as well since you always mentioned how inseparable they are and it would be rude of us not to offer her the opportunity as well." Her royal highness said with great sincerity in her voice.

"I'm sorry what?" I ask skeptically looking at my grandfather.

But to my surprise, he was just as surprised as I was.

" Your majesty this too much of a kind act of you towards us as just commoners. We don't deserve this from you." My grandmother responded calmly.

" What do you think lord Henry?" The king asked.

"I think it would be the best for my grandson and his best friend, but isn't it too much of you to do?"

"That's just the start, we would like for you and your family to come and live here as well and your son's best friend as well if she would be allowed to." His Majesty said.

Angel began to cough constantly. Everyone turned their heads to her with concern on their face.

" I'm fine, just a little surprise," she said with a huge smile reassuring us.

" I do not wish to hear your answer now, of course, we will let you think about it but I would be very happy if you don't refuse please," her highness said cautiously.

" Is there anything you wish to say, you have been very quiet from the start are you alright Navin?" The king asked.

" I'm fine I'm just processing your words and actions carefully so I would not think I'm hallucinating," I said calmly.

"Well if that's all it was lovely to have dinner with you wonderful people. But I'm tired, so please excuse us now" the queen said.

We all stood and thanked them for the meal and they left the room. We decided it is late and we should get going as well.

The ride back home was very quiet. Everyone was lost in their world while I was happy to have an opportunity to attend such a school I was worried that I won't fit in and would just bring dishonor to my family's name. Nevertheless, it would be very much impudent to refuse the royal family's request. I'm sure that is going to be my grandfather's words. Therefore to make my grandfather proud I will accept it and do my best.

The car finally stopped in front of our house and we all existed and headed inside.

"Can we all talk in the living room please?" Grandpa requested.

We all nodded and headed to the room.

We discussed the offer made and all concluded that we will accept and do as the queen wishes. Angel is going to talk to her brother and see if he would approve of her moving school and home and will tell us back. But for now, she is more than excited to live in a palace. While I on the other was worried to disappoint my grandparents. We then decided to call it a night and went to bed.

Angel and I are fighting about who is gonna have to pick the movie tonight and eventually she won the battle with her selection of "Like a boss" with Tiffany Haddish. I pouted and finally surrendered and we watch the movie.
To my surprise it was funny and it was something I needed at the moment. After it finished I made use of the washroom and quickly got back in bed and let the sleepiness fully take my body over.
