Confused is an understatement of what Zain is going through right now, he's so confused to the extent that he's lost in his own thought, he's pretty sure Jaudah said she will talk to her Abie and the marriage won't take place but now his female relatives are already on their way to Jaudah's house for the engagement and his mom is at home with Fareeda, they've filled his ears with stories of how the wedding will take place and how he needs to start buying the kayan lefe because everything needs to be perfect. What game is Jaudah trying to play? He asked himself.

On the other hand Jaudah is already on a hot seat writing her jamb and at the same time thinking of the engagement that's taking place.

In the northern part of Nigeria, the female elders get the young ones engaged, they sit and discuss amongst themselves then find a proper date to fix which will be in favor of both parties.

Jaudah didn't know what she was doing at the exam hall, she was just gambling out anything that comes to her mind and in few minutes she was done.

Over the week Jaudah told Abie that she and Zain have agreed to get married, even though Ammi was suspicious about the agreement she didn't say much about it since Jaudah has been adamant about what she's saying, she even told them to call Zain and confirm from him but Abie said no need for that, Abie called his friend and told him what Jaudah said to which Kamalludeen called Zain showering praises on him without him knowing what he did to deserve those praises but now he knew why. She told her brother's what she told Ammi and Abie, they were all happy for her thinking she has found love not knowing reverse is the case. Faruq came back home two days ago and Jaudah couldn't be more happier, she told him what inspired between her and Zain and how she told her family a different story, he scolded her to the extent that he threatened to tell everybody the truth but she stopped him by telling him her reasons for doing such, and with that they closed the chapter because he was also in full support of what she's about to do.

ZAIN'S POV

I don't know what this Jaudah of a girl is planning but whatever it is I'm going to deal with her my own way, I asked Fareeda her number and fortunately I got it, I want to call her so could explain to me why she lied because I don't want to be called 'the devil's son' when I start treating her badly. I dailed her number and she didn't pick, I dailed for the second time promising not to call her again if she didn't pick this time around but fortunately for me she picked.

"Hello", I heard her melodious voice from the other side of the phone, wait did you just say her voice is melodious? My inner voice asked to which I rolled my eyes in response.

"Why did you give a go ahead on this marriage issue?", I asked straight forward

"Oh Zain it's you", she said on the other side

"It's Mr or Sir to you", I immediately retorted back

"Huh, calm down Tiger, I'm your soon to be wife, beside you should have gotten a hint when you came here, I can't just go to my Abie and say 'Abie Zain said he won't marry me that he's not interested' c'mon I can't do that", she boldly said and for a minute I was speechless.

She's right, no well brought up lady can go to her parents and tell them that the guy they chose for didn't like her, it will be embracing and even if she did I won't be able to look at Uncle Suraj in the eye again, but in other to show her that I'm still on my motive on not wanting her as my wife, I decided to threaten her, maybe, just maybe she will find a way to stop this marriage from happening.

"Well my dear Jaudah, let me make one thing clear to you, it's either you find a way to stop this marriage or get ready to get yourself into hell, because let me tell you my dear, my house will be just like hell for you", I threatened hoping she will get the message.

"In that case I'm ready for the hell", she sharply replied back and hanged up immediately to which I was taking aback. Did she just hang up on you? My inner voice asked, if only could beat my inner self then I would just to make that stupid voice keep shut.

JAUDAH'S POV

Zain called threatening me on the marriage issue, even though I was extremely scared I was still bold enough to answer back to him.

Our wedding date has been fixed yesterday, and in two months time I will be married to the one and only Zain Kamalludeen, I don't love Zain but I'm ready for this commitment, I'm pretty sure what I'm going to gain from this commitment is worth all the tensions, I promise not to tell anyone about the threat, not even Faruq because I'm sure he won't think twice about stopping the marriage and that's what I can't risk.

I heard a knock on my door and I opened it only to see my crazy friends pushing me out of the way and coming in, Fareeda included. They all sat on my bed while I sat the couch.

"And to what do I owe this visit?", I asked looking at them one after the other.

"Haba amaryar mu, koh ruwa baki bamu ba fa (our bride, you didn't even give us what)", Fareeda said

"You know your way to the kitchen", I said rolling my eyes.

"That's not a good way to treat your in-law", Kausar said

"Agreed", Fifi second her while playing cooking fever

"Fareeda don't mind them, you know I'm a good In-law, infact I will even cook for you today before you leave", I tried to bribe Fareeda since they are already ganging up on me.

"I can't wait to eat your delicious delicacy", Aysha said, she sure is a foodie.

"And you, I hope you won't be playing cooking fever on my wedding day", I said to Fifi pointing at her.

She didn't reply, instead she dropped down her phone and move to my side on the couch.

"We are here to discuss your wedding babe", she said, looking at me intently as if she's studying me.

"Let's discuss this in the kitchen, Jaudah up up, let go to the kitchen, I'm hungry", Fareeda said standing up and dropping down her veil while she picked up my fluffy cap which was on the bed and placed it on her head.

"Fine, let's go to the kitchen", I said, and with that we all strolled down to the kitchen.

"What should I cook?", I asked looking at them.

"Anything simple", Kausar and Fareeda said in unison.

I decide to make cous cous, easy and delicious.

I was busy cooking while they were discussing my wedding, I couldn't stop laughing at their crazy ideas, I can't believe they want more than three events, if only they knew that the groom himself is not in support of this marriage they wouldn't have been this cheerful.

"Guys, guys stop with the arguments please, for my wedding what I only want is a bridal shower and walima, after that nothing else", I said with finality in my voice.

"There's no way that is going to happen, you mean no dinner, no way", Fifi said glaring daggers at me.

"Babe whether you like it or not this is how your wedding is going to take place, birdal shower, henna day, kamu, wedding, walima and finally dinner, the males can have a reception after the wedding", Fareeda said and they all agree with her.

"Fine", I said since that is all they want, I pray everything goes smoothly without Zain trying to do anything drastic.

I wonder why Zain won't speak to his Dad instead.

Why is Jaudah so adamant on getting married to Zain even after the threats?

What are the reasons she told Faruq?

Is this wedding going to take place at all?

The recipe for the Cous cous will be in my Mzzdaddy's Golden Kitchen cookbook, check it out....
