Chapter 18: New Areas

Should I write another babtqftim book after dis one? =3= or a BATIM x Reader book? I'll let y'all decide... bcs I'm stupid <-<

Y/n POV

I hadn't talked since yesterday morning. I felt so bad for what had happened, that I decided to not say a word.

Despite Cuphead's many slimy and fluffy efforts to get me to talk, I didn't budge. I mean, who would want to talk after something like that? Maybe someone with little to no humility...

Everyone had been aware of Cuphead's efforts, and they kept on asking me what he did to attempt and make me talk. I shook my head every time because it was kind of gross and... cute in some way.

Cuphead at one point was kissing all over my face and he was super slimy about it. I wasn't going to go into detail about it, but let's just say there was saliva all over my face afterwards.

I shook it off of my mind and went over to the girl from the other day. She was tightly bounded in ropes and her wings were latched onto her back. She was leaned against a tree.

I glared at her as I cleared my throat. "For the hundredth time- tell me your name!!" I whispered.

She rolled her eyes. "Why should I?"

"So I can stop calling you 'bitchy girl' and just call you by your name?" I sneered back.

"Hm..." she paused for a moment. "Whatever-... I'm Asteria... happy?"

"Uhhuh- ok... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU AND WHY ARE YOU SO DAMN VIOLENT?!"

She blew hair out of her face. "It's my job, duh."

I rolled my eyes. "Also stop glaring at Cups! What did he ever do to you?!"

"Nothing, it's what he's going to do to you that I don't like."

I blinked. "What do you mean 'do to me'?"

"Eh-... you'll figure it out eventually..."

I crossed my arms. "Is it like-..."

"No dumbass, it's not that... it goes down... deep." Her eyes darted to the ground.

I made an annoyed sound. "Whatever it is I'm sure it's not too bad- BUT NOW- where the fuck DID YOU come from?!"

"You'll see..."

I crossed my arms. "How?! It's not like your telling me anything!!"

Suddenly her ropes fell of. My eyes widened and I stepped back, making my hands into fists as I watched her stand up.

"I don't have to tell you anything you asshole... also- don't worry pipsqueak... you're not too bad, but grab your friends because you'll all wanna come...OH- and the ink machine is there..."

My eyes widened. "Really?!"

She nodded and flared her wings out, stretching her arms as well. "Yeah, I'm the guardian after all..."

I crossed my arms. "Then why are you here? Shouldn't you be... well... at the machine?"

She fluffed out her hair and then flapped her wings a little. She shook her head as she continued to brush herself off.

"Can you use words? I don't understand that concept?"

She looked at me. "I guard the barrier of my home, and when any outsider goes inside- it's my duty to go to the ink machine and guard it with my life."

"So... sure your a guard or some shit like that but like what's your... position or something?"

"Princess, Guard, and Guardian." She said, holding up the sword.

"Then why are you a guard?!" I flared my arms.

"Because they couldn't trust anyone else."

I facepalmed as I grabbed her wing and began to pull her. "Let's just get this over with then..."

_Time skip... they make it to a rather bland area of trees_

I was scowling at this. The land in front of us was still just forests. I looked at Cuphead, then Asteria.

"This is a joke isn't it?" I said, still scowling.

She shook his head. "Give me your hand."

She took my hand in hers and held it out in front. I felt something vibrating on my hand. Suddenly she shoved me.

It was all a bright light till I noticed where I was... I was on a floating pavilion. The platform had a stone walk way and a golden outline as it trailed along the edges of the stone. There was grass and trees on the platform, and flowers that looked unknown to anywhere in the world.

I looked out in front of me. There were floating platforms going on and on until they made it all the way to one big pavilion. It had huge buildings that looked Ancient Greek in style. They were towering up and up till they got to the highest building there.

The highest building had a golden dome on top and following down was made of pillars and huge golden plants. Right above the dome was a huge glowing halo. I looked underneath all the platforms to see nothing but clouds and the sky reflecting off of them. I wasn't a height fan, so I fell back.

This is crazy... I thought.

That's when I heard the other questers come
In. They were taking it in as Asteria walked beside me.

"Isn't my world beautiful?" She said, inhaling and exhaling calmly.

I nodded. "Yes, but it's also terrifying!"

She shrugged. "Eh, you get used to it."

Then she tapped her foot on the stone as it vibrated and hummed. There suddenly was a golden chariot and Asteria flew over the nothing and grabbed a long golden chain in the front.

The chariot was solid gold and the rims of it were golden very detailed vines. I hopped on as everyone else looked at me.

"I don't trust that...." Cups said.

"Well I don't trust you." Asteria snapped. "Now get on."

Everyone immediately got on and looked to the edges. Nothing was beneath us but somehow this thing was floating.

Asteria smiled as she yanked the chain, then shot off. We were speeding fast as the city was suddenly in reach.

I was so excited to see what was in the city. But I was also nervous...

Very nervous...
