I woke up and saw Brandon was gone. I showered and got dressed for the day when there was a knock on the door. I opened the door to see Brandon standing there coffee in hand.
"Wanna drive to the rink together? I'll give you a ride?" Brandon asked as I sipped on the caramel flavored coffee.
"Sure," I said smiling. I grabbed my keys and phone and followed Brandon to his car.
I hoped into the passenger seat and then changed the radio to a different station.
"What do you think you're doing," Brandon asked staring at me.
"Finding good music duh," I said sticking my tongue out at him.
He just chuckled and drove to the rink. I thanked him for the ride and headed into the training room. I did some random work and sat in the room bored. I decided to go watch practice for a while. I sat on the bench watching the boys do drill after drill.
The guys came over for a water break and Tanner squirted water in my face which earned him a ice cold glare. I got up and went to go change shirts so I wouldn't be cold. I grabbed my extra shirt I keep for emergencies and walked into a room. I was still finding my way around this place and I didn't know where the bathrooms were. I took off my shirt and slipped the other one over my head. I glanced up and saw Beau standing there his mouth hanging open.
"Woah," was all he mumbled under his breath. My face turned bright red and I quickly turned and exited the room.
I ran into Brandon though. I don't know why life couldn't just give me a break.
"Why were you in the stick room?" Brandon questioned walking with me to the trainers room.
"Changing shirts..." I said holding up the wet shirt.
"Oh," he said not questioning it further.
Brandon and I got into his truck and he started the drive back to my apartment. We both sang to any song that came on the radio even if we didn't know the words.
"Thanks for the ride," I said smiling.
"No problem and here read this," Brandon said smiling and handing me a folded piece of paper.
I nodded and waved before heading up to my apartment. As soon as I got into my apartment I tore open the letter.
Dear Becca,
I know that it's been crazy these last couple days but, I would hope that you would join me on a date? I want to get to know the beautiful girl you're trying to hide from everyone. I'll break down your walls even if it's the last thing I do. I hope you will join me on this date. If you chose to meet me at the incline and I'll be there at 6:30 holding a dozen roses... I hope to see you soon.
~you're not so secret admirer.
I smiled at the letter but, at the same time I was nervous. I didn't want Brandon to break down the walls I worked so hard to put up. I didn't want him to see how vulnerable I really was. I sighed and put the notes with the other before going to get dressed.
