The couple arrived in Jersey until Steve dropped his hand on Alyssa's thigh as her phone kept going off.

"It's Tony. SHIELD is wondering if he knows where I am so they can get to you."

"You didn't respond right?"

"I'm not an idiot." she smiled lightly stirring in her seat.

"I'm sorry that I told Peggy that we're just friends." Steve started, "I love you and I shouldn't have let something as small as unresolved feelings get in the way of expressing my love for you to Peggy." Steve finished.

"I forgive you. It is going to take some time but I love you too." she leaned over to peck his cheek. She stirred slightly in her chair.

"You tired?" she nodded lightly closing her eyes. "Sleep tight doll." he kissed her hand softly.

"Ally wake up." Steve shook the girl slightly. She stirred getting up. "You know it's actually terrifying how much you sleep." Steve said helping the girl out the car and walking onto the abandoned military base.

"This camp is where I was trained." Steve said looking at the base.

"Changed much?" Alyssa asked jokingly scanning the area

"A little." he said looking off in the distance.

"This is a dead end. Zero heat signature, zero waves, not even radio. Whoever wrote the file must have used a router to throw people off." Alyssa said standing up from her position on the ground.

"Army regulations forbid storing ammunition within five hundred yards of the barracks. This building is in the wrong place." Steve says opening the lock to the building with his shield. Alyssa turns on the lights to the realization that it is a SHIELD.

"This is SHIELD." Alyssa said walking in.

"Maybe where it started." Steve said noticing three picture frames of Howard Stark, Peggy and Col. Chester Phillips.

"There's my Dad. He looks so young here." she smiled sadly looking at the picture of her father at maybe 25 or 26.

"Howard." Steve nodded.

Steve turned away to walk further down the room and stops by a massive book shelf.

"If you're already working in a secret office..." Steve pushed the bookshelf to see a secret elevator, "Why do you need to hide the elevator?"

"Let's find out." Alyssa said the two riding down the elevator together taking them to a room full of old computers.

"This can't be the data-point, this technology is ancient." Alyssa said looking around the room till she noticed a small flash drive port, she places the flash drive in it which then activates the ancient computer in the room.

"Initiate system?" the computer robotically spoke.

"Y-E-S, spells yes. 'Shall we play a game?'" Alyssa smiled typing into the computer. "It's from a movie that..."

"Yeah, I saw it when you went out with Natasha."

"Rogers, Steven. Born, 1918. Stark, Alyssa-Rose. Born, 1989." An old camera analyzes them.

"It's some kind of a recording." Alyssa spoke lowly.

"I am not a recording, Fräulein. I may not be the man I was when the Captain took me prisoner in 1945, but I am." the computer screen spoke showing a picture of a man.

"Do you know this thing?" Alyssa turned to her boyfriend.

"Arnim Zola was a German scientist who worked for the Red Skull. He's been dead for years." Steve said not removing his eyes from the machine.

"First correction, I am Swiss. Second, look around you. I have never been more alive. In 1972 I received a terminal diagnosis. Science could not save my body, my mind, however, that was worth saving on two hundred thousand feet of data banks. You are standing in my brain." Zola spoke.

"How did you get here?" Steve asked.

"Invited."

"It was Operation Paperclip after World War II. SHIELD recruited German scientists with strategic value." Alyssa spoke.

"They thought I could help their cause. I also helped my own." Zola continued.

"HYDRA died with the Red Skull." Steve retorted.

"Cut off one head, two more shall take its place." Zola said sadistically.

"Who was the shooter? And why did he kill Fury?" Alyssa asked curiosity building up inside of her.

"You should be thankful for that man. If it weren't for him. You wouldn't be Statica today." Zola said annoyed.

"So the soldier gave me my powers? HYDRA kidnapped me?"

"Young child. We still have you." Zola spoke leaving Alyssa unsettled before turning back to Steve. "HYDRA was founded on the belief that humanity could not be trusted with its own freedom. What we did not realize, was that if you try to take that freedom, they resist. The war taught us much. Humanity needed to surrender its freedom willingly. After the war, SHIELD was founded and I was recruited. The new HYDRA grew. A beautiful parasite inside SHIELD. For seventy years HYDRA has been secretly feeding crisis, reaping war. And when history did not cooperate, history was changed."

"That's impossible, SHIELD would have stopped you." Steve spoke.

"Accidents will happen." the camera panned to Maria and Howard Stark showing that the car accident was staged.

"Steve." Alyssa cried out quietly. Steve quickly pulled the girl into him rubbing her back lightly still listening to Zola.

"HYDRA created a world so chaotic that humanity is finally ready to sacrifice its freedom to gain its security. Once the purification process is complete, HYDRA's new world order will arise. We won, Captain. Your death amounts to the same as your Life; a zero sum." Steve threw his SHIELD at the computer killing the monitors. "As I was saying..." the monitor started on a different screen.

"What's on this drive?" Steve got closer to the monitor moving away from the girl.

"Project Insight requires insight. So I wrote an algorithm."

"What kind of algorithm? What does it do?" Steve asked.

"The answer to your question is fascinating. Unfortunately, you shall be too dead to hear it."

Suddenly the doors starts to close, Steve tried to stop it by throwing his shield in between it but he was too late.

"Steve, we got a bogey. Short range ballistic. 30 seconds tops." Alyssa said looking at her phone showing a ballistic coming their way.

"Who fired it?"

"SHIELD."

"I am afraid I have been stalling, Captain. Admit it, it's better this way. We're both of us...out of time." Zola said. Alyssa grabbed the flash drive. Steve noticed a small opening on the floor and ripped it open. The place exploded as he throws himself and Alyssa into the hole and protects them with his shield.

Steve pushed himself from the rubble and saw Alyssa passed out. He noticed the jets and STRIKE teams searching for them but concealing them and going to his new friends, Sams house.
