What's one thing you hate about Natalia?

-

Alessandro and I were currently in a car that was being driven by our driver, Michael.

Where we were going? I had not a single clue, he only told me we were going on a date.

Along the way, Alessandro got multiple phone calls from many clients and workers. "Non era una domanda, era un ordine." He said coldly before he hung up, it was very rare for me to see Alessandro in 'business mode' it seemed like he tried his best to hide that side from me whenever he could. (Translation: It wasn't a question, it was an order.)

He looked over to me, giving me his usual soft smile. "Sorry about that." I nodded, leaning back in my seat.

"It's ok," I reassured him, he glanced at his phone, sighing.

"I'm turning off my phone." I shook my head in protest not wanting to disrupt his work.

"You don't have to." He turned off his phone, taking his hand in mine.

"No, I want to. I promised you a date I'm going to give you one. Which means I'm going to give you my undivided attention." He didn't leave any room for an argument, so I just gave him a smile.

"Fine, if you insist."

"I love you." He told him while I rested my head against his shoulder, he placed a gentle kiss on my head making me relax further.

About 20 minutes had passed before we arrived before I had a chance to leave the car he stopped me.

"Wait here," Alessandro said as he slipped out of his side of the car.

Soon he opened my door with red roses in his hands and a smile on his face, my heart honestly couldn't handle how happy he looked over the simplest things and how his small gestures meant more to me than he realized.

Helping me out of the car, he handed me the roses, I smiled down at them giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Thank you." He nodded happily.

"Where are we?" Looking around, I could tell we were on a mountain.

"Somewhere." I rolled my eyes amused.

"Wow, that's very descriptive." He grinned at my sarcastic comment.

"We're almost there. Come on." He took my hand directing me into the forest.

"What is up with you and taking me into a forest on our dates?" I asked jokily.

"So you admit we went on a date." He lets out, referring to the time we went out to a diner and to the crystal river.

"I believe it was," I said, earning a visible smile from him even in the darkness his smile could light up a whole room.

"We're here." I took my eyes off him looking around.

A dark blue blanket sat on the mountain, food was placed on it along with a wooden picnic basket that had a small red blanket covering it.

"Wow."

"Since we didn't get to have that second date outside." He said softly behind me, I smiled turning to him.

"Thank you for all this." Alessandro nodded,  "This isn't even the best part." He turned me to face the view, we were in the middle of nowhere, there were only a few lights down the high mountain.

He moved my head up, I let out a gasp as I saw the stars in the sky, there were about a thousand of them shinning down at us, I was absolutely amazed by their beauty. It was very rare to see stars in the sky due to the city lights, it was only now that I realized the beauty I was deprived of.

"Sandro this view is breathtaking," I whispered still shocked.

"Yes, it is." Turning to him, I noticed he wasn't staring at the stars, his attention was only on me. And he wasn't standing he was on one knee with a small box in his hand.

"Alessandro..." I started, my heart beating faster as my anxiety spiked. "You know I don't want to get married."

"I know, I'm not proposing. This is a promise ring, maybe one day you'll change your mind about marriage. Now can I start my speech?" I grinned nodding while pushing away my worries.

"Natalia Andrea Petrov, I love you, you are unlike any woman I've ever met. You're a breath of fresh air, you are smart, carefree, sarcastic and stunning. When I met you, I knew you were the one, and it wasn't because of the red dress" I chuckled and he continued looking at me with eyes filled with hope for our future.

"You make me happy and I want to make you happy for the rest of our lives. This ring is a symbol of my love for you and my plans to marry you one day." I smiled at the thought, but I still wasn't ok with the thought of marriage.

"Since a promise solidifies the bond between two people. I give you this ring to guarantee my promise to you." He opened the box showing me the ring.

"It's beautiful," I whispered, removing it from the box, he slipped it on my finger.

I pulled him up for a passion filled kiss, my heart swarming with many different emotions my mind chose not to comprehend.

I looked at my hand, smiling. "How many carrots are on this?" I asked, not wanting him to spend his money on such materialistic things.

"Don't worry about it." He placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.

"I love you," I whispered, the words seemed foreign to me until now, I had been scared as hell to say it to him, but I knew the fear that was holding me back was from my past relationships that had failed. I thought 'I love you' was a word of weakness, but really it was a word of strength.

His loving stare turned into shock not expecting me to say that. "I didn't know how to say it before, and I didn't know how you would feel or react after I said these words to you, I thought maybe after I said them you would leave so I've bee-" I didn't get to finish my anxiety-filled rant as he pulled me into a deep kiss, expressing his love for me through it. Making sure I knew he would always be here even when I felt he wouldn't.

"I would never leave you." He stated firmly as he pulled back from my lips.

"Promise?" I asked softly, gazing into his eyes.

"Promise."

I felt like that was a promise he wouldn't be able to keep.

-

Yay! She finally said I love you.
