What is up everyone? Long time no see! Emperor Drakkon back again with a new recap of:
Battle Nexus: New York!
This is really the only episode you need to see. The others are fun and all, but THIS? OHOHOHO! I loved this!
It's actually the first 30 minute special we've gotten in a long while! If you don't remember, the last 30 minute special was the official debut of The Shredder, my favorite villain from ROTTMNT and TMNT in general.
Although, my favorite turtle is between Donnie and Leo. Can't ever choose between the two though.
So last time! We got a whole lot of this!

And then I realized I actually missed something important! Big Mama's newest Battle Nexus champion: Shadow Fiend.

He's on the screen for like 10 seconds! Ok?! I was not aware people were already making theories about him! So I feel stupid, but eh! Who cares? But remember him later!
Anyway! What happens in the episode?
Well, it starts out with the Turtles, April, Splinter, and Draxum hanging out in the city all in disguises so they don't freak anyone out, but then? We finally get an answer to what that Shadowy Force I've been going crazy about is!
Apparently it's what the orb does! Remember that orb Big Mama was given by Draxum?

That's apparently what the Shadow hands are! Big Mama has been capturing villains to fight in her Battle Nexus, but this time? She wants the arena to be NEW YORK.
Draxum, April, and Splinter are captured and the turtles are separated into various fights with past villains!
Raph is with Ghost Bear.
Leo is with Crab Guy.
Mikey is with Meat Sweats.
Donnie is with Hypno.
They all fight in various challenges, and we'll go over each and everyone of them!
Raph and Ghost Bear fight a giant troll yokai and have to learn to work together! So they use Ghost Bear's signature finishing move: The Hibernator...It doesn't work and they're swatted into the sea. Oh, no. Raph's dead.
Ok, I've watched the first series enough to know they aren't brave enough to kill a turtle just yet. But it was still dramatic! Even Leo stopped joking for a while!
Anyway! The other challenges include Mikey and Meat Sweats trying to feed a two headed orange snake, but when Mikey is trying to prepare a satisfying dish for the hungrier snake, the first one eats it and then the second one tries-
Uhh...Ok, the snakes eat each other. Self cannibalism?
Leo and Crab Guy (I don't know his real name), have to make a sprite who has never laughed laugh! And Leo learns how to make them laugh by pain! He makes Crab Guy hurt himself and the sprite bursts out laughing!
Donnie and Hypno get an easy victory. Donnie turns into the chess pieces of the chess game they're forced to play, but here's the thing: Hypno has no idea how to play chess. So what does he do?
Absolutely nothing.
The opponent Cortex gets so mad he accidentally knocks down his own king and loses!
Note to self: Always use that strategy.
Meanwhile, Draxum realizes that the orb has created a false luxury dimension and he convinces April and Splinter to help him break it. Oh! And Todd returns too! Along with Foot Recruit? Yeah. She apparently decides to help!
Draxum eventually breaks them all free when the turtles confront Big Mama, who tells them of her plan to use New York as her new arena!
But then? She summons her new champion! The Shadow Fiend!
So? Everyone has to fight him and get the orb so they can free everyone else! But Shadow Fiend is far too powerful!
Then? Raph returns! Yay! He's ok even though I knew he wasn't dead.
Anyway! Shadow Fiend isn't happy and continues to kick everyone's butt and even fights Draxum! Sending him flying up into the hotel that Big Mama owns! It made me scared of the guy!
But then? When Foot Recruit uses April's mystic weapon? She sees a familiar face and now knows who the Shadow Fiend is.
The fight continues until The Turtles do a team up move! Raph uses his hologram, Leo summons a portal, Mikey powers the hologram up with fire, and Donnie fuels the incoming punch with jet packs!
BOOM! Shadow Fiend is taken down!
Big Mama isn't happy about that and tries to use the ring that controls Shadow Fiend, but nothing happens. She looks down and sees that the ring is not on her finger!
THEN SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS.
The Foot Recruit takes the ring and tells them: "There is no Shadow Fiend. Only
THE SHREDDER."
YUP! Shadow Fiend IS Shredder! The collar that Big Mama gave the turtles to stop Shredder wasn't in fact something that deactivated him, it was a mind control device so Big Mama could use Shredder as her new champion!
Foot Recruit and Shredder isn't happy about that. So Shredder attacks and once again! HE KICKS EVERYONE'S BUTT WITHOUT TRYING.
Splinter quickly takes action and throws Leo's sword around the heroes so they can retreat through a portal, and even tries to get Big Mama with them since she will die if she stays there.
Big Mama tries to follow them inside, but Shredder stops her and then Big Mama is SHAKING.
The Foot Recruit tells her: "I'd run if I were you."
Then? SHREDDER SLICES THE HOTEL IN HALF AND THEN ESCAPES WITH THE FOOT RECRUIT!
