For nineteen years, your little sister was always jealous of you. You were the heir to the throne, the golden girl, the beacon of hope, and everything your mother wanted you to be. You were the one with powers. The one with abilities. You had everything.
You were the favorite princess. The villagers loved you. You did everything in your power to keep them happy.
However, you were oblivious to your little sisters plans. You knew she was teaching herself spells and other magic, but she refused to tell anyone what she was learning.
You got into a fight with her after shopping in the village one night. She slammed her door in your face. With a sigh, you headed back to your room.
"Princess. Your mother wishes to speak with you." One of the servants stopped you on the way back to your room.
"Now?" You groaned.
"Yes miss. She's waiting in the throne room."
You sighed. "Very well." You turned and walked off to meet up with your mother.
She looked up and smiled when you walked in. "There you are. I was wondering what was taking you so long."
"I was almost back to my room." You walked over. "What did you want to talk about?"
"The future. You know you're almost to the age where you can take my place." She reminded. "I've told you that it's a lot easier if you have a partner to help you."
You groaned. "I told you before, I can handle it on my own. I'm not looking for a lover, mother. I don't want someone to marry me just because of who I am."
"There's plenty of people who would marry you, and not because of who you are."
"They wouldn't. They want the crown, mother. That's all they care about. Power. They're all greedy, every last one of them."
Your mother sighed. "Well, you need to marry someone eventually."
"If I can find someone who actually wants me instead of the crown, then yes, I will. Until then, marriage is out of the question." You stood up. "I'm going back to my room."
Without another word, you stood up and walked off to your room.
You closed your bedroom door behind you. You leaned down and picked up a paper that lay on the floor.
You're not strong enough to lead.
You rolled your eyes. Your sister was always jealous of you. You were the heir and the one with the magic. She lived in your shadow.
On the back of the paper, there were notes. Your sister must've forgotten about them.
-Get rid of both of them
-Top shelf of library, old spell book (has forbidden spells)
You frowned. Your sister was up to something.
