Chapter 13

"I already have a mother"

"Let, us, go!" Gosalyn ordered at Huey as he continued to drag the girl's further away from the door. He paused and looked back at them. The original Webby stared at him, not saying a word, her eyes told him what he had to do.

He sighed deeply.

"I'm going to regret this aren't I?" He asked her as he dug the key to their chains out from. Gosayln eyes darted from him to Webby as he undid hers first.

Once he got done doing Gosalyn's Webby gave him a huge hug. The 'other,' Huey froze. He wasn't use to affectionate hugs. Gosalyn beamed at them.

"He'd be proud, you know." Webby said, wiping a tear away from her eyes.

"I wouldn't go that far." The 'other,' Huey muttered. "I did kill him."

"The Huey I know wouldn't have on purpose." Webby told him gently. "In the universe or otherwise." She added. "You are a good person, Huey. This is proof of that." Webby insisted.

Huey gave her a small smile.

"Come on," She said, taking his hand. "Let's go save the boy's together."

"I, I think I'll sit this one out." Huey stammered. He slowly removed his hand from hers. "I, I need to be lost for a bit. Clear my head." He rummaged around his commander jacket and took out a small envelope and handed it to Webby.

Webby stared at it.

For Louie was written in Huey's handwriting across the front.

"Just, do me a favor and give this to him for me." Huey's voice broke as he asked. "He's going to be needing help real soon, and, and I can't be there for him when that time comes."

"Why?" Webby asked. "You are his brother, Huey. He's always going to need you and -."

"I'm sorry, Webs. Odds are, he's not going to like what's in that letter. But I can't sit around and wait for something to happen to Louie too. If I have a chance to stop what's coming, then I need to at least try. For his sake..." His voice trailed off as he looked at her with pleading eyes.

Webby looked back down at the closed letter then back at him, she was trying really hard to figure out what he was trying to tell her. Why he was having her hand this letter to the 'other,' Louie instead of himself, but then she heard them all scream,

"LOUIE!"

She blinked, stuffed the envelope inside her shirt pocket, and grabbed Gosalyn's hand before rushing back into the room. They both stopped short when they saw the original Louie go limp. His eyes were closed, and his breathing became more rapid. Webby watched as his soul energy floated out of him and into this needle Scrooge had in his hand. It was green and she also noticed that it had a hint of pink swirling around with it.

Her heart sank.

Did that mean what she thought it meant?

"That's it!" Glomgold snarled. He took out a couple more dynamites, lit them up and threw them at Scrooge. Scrooge didn't even flinch as he tossed the original Louie aside, slamming him against both Webby and Gosalyn.

All three slammed against the far side of the wall.

Scrooge dodged the dynamite, picked up a remainder one and threw it towards Glomgold who didn't have time to get out of the way. It exploded near him, knocking him out cold, making him fall to the ground with a loud thud.
