Bring me the Wolf

You sat down on your haunches and started to scratch an itch behind your ear.

"Now what?" You heard Bell asked.

Wrapping your bushy tail around your paws you looked past both Yuno and Bell, you could hear your squad approaching closer.

"Well now we go deeper." You turned your head towards the shadows where the cat appeared and licked your chops; you were filled with excitement and curiosity. All your expeditions were always so boring since the clues were always so obvious. 

Jumping up, you started to trot forward before looking over your shoulder. "We need to get going before Nozel or Meroleona comes and tears us apart." 

Yuno looked back towards the approaching crowd and nodded in agreement. He started to follow you, while doing so he pushed a low hanging branch out but without warning is snapped back and almost wacked the teen in the face. A small chuckle escaped your lips, then followed with a scold from Bell.

Once again you kept your nose down, trying to pick up any scent that seemed different. Multiple of times you had to stop and wait for Yuno to catch up. The deeper the three of you went into the forest, the denser the trees got; making it harder for the male to avoid the branches and roots. By now you couldn't hear the group's grunts of frustration or Meroleona yells of anger, but you knew they were right behind you struggling just as much as the male. 

Glancing over your shoulder for the third time you saw Yuno's lips were pressed together and his fist were being to turn white with furry and annoyance as he tried to avoid a branch but then later was wacked in the back making him stubble forward then tripping on a small uprooted root. He quickly turned and shook his first angrily then continued on his way. You pulled your lips back in a slit grin; your white teeth glistening in the faint light. Before you knew it the words just slipped out.

"Get on."

Yuno looked up from the root he was struggling to get over. He knitted his eyebrows together in confusion. "What?"

"Yeah what are you trying to say?" 

You let out a quick sign and turned to the side. "You're slowing me down. If you get on my back we'll get through this much quicker."

"But wait. If Yuno is having trouble getting thourgh these branches how would a bear get through them with out leaving a trail wide enough for all of us to go through?"

"Exactly what I was thinking. If you did see the bear, then wouldn't it choose a better, less dense trail?" Yuno asked as he stretched his arms above his head and yawned.

Twitching an ear you added "That is true, but we aren't just looking for the bear. But don't you think this would be the perfect stop for someone who's hiding for treason? Hard to get to and easy to ambush." You looked up at the tree tops. The branches were perfect for climbing, and the leaves gave just enough for camouflage and enough clearance for someone to watch down below. 

Both Yuno and Bell followed your gaze and soon after agreed. "Now get on." The words hissed between clenched teeth. At first Yuno hesitated, but then climbed on. It wasn't hard for you to hold the weight of the boy, since you were larger than a normal wolf, but it felt strange to have someone on you.

Taking a step forward, you felt Yuno wrap his fingers around your thick fur making it pull at your skin; but you ignored the pain and continued forward making sure that you don't lose your footing.

Every step was taken with care, and the extra weight made it difficult to climb over roots but you were gaining more ground then if the boy was walking on his own two feet.

Multiple of times Yuno would duck from a branch, making you lose your balance and trip from the sudden movement, but you continued on your way.

After a while Yuno lowered his head and spoke in your ear, you could feel his hot breath on your skin, making your fur stand up around your neck. "Its being to look like the trees are becoming less dense." Lifting your head from the ground you finally looked around, and it was true the trees looked like they were becoming more spread out. Stop for a second, you took a deep breath in. Your nose twichted as the crisp air rushed into your lungs, Yuno too took breath in.

Then you sneezed as the scent of cherrys hit your nose. Cherrys has always made you sneeze, you weren't allergic, it was just something with the smell.

"You smell that too?" You heard Bell asked

"Yeah." Yuno said, while you nodded your head to agree with him.

Without warning Yuno swung his leg over and got off.   You shot a glare at him and he returned it with a slit grin. "Your breathing was increasing and so was your heart rate, and besides there's more room for me to walk now."

Letting out a small sign, you decided to switch forms. Slowly getting up from a squat you put your hands on your hips. "Well let's get going."

And together the three of your made your way through the trees. But little did you know what would come next... Pieces of your past will arise and you'll be faced with the hardest decisions of your life.
