Wait, Say That Again

After a long and sickening ride you finally arrived at Pono. The village wasn't like other places in the foresaken realm. The houses were bigger and there were much less space for farming. People rushed around the streets, while children laughed and scurried after each other splashing in the puddles from the recent rain fall.

You stepped on the freshly wet grass and felt better being on the ground again. Nozel ordered that everyone landed a few hundred feet away from the village, he wanted to prevent an uproar from the villagers but that ended up back fireing quickly.

A group of children saw the magic knights first and came rushing up the hill. Their eyes were filled with excitement and curiosity.

Your eyes went wide as you saw them, and you quickly went to find Meroleona. You despised children; whenever you were in your other form they would always pull on your tail and ears. And you would always come back with gunk and knots in your fur. You always felt bad for Vanessa or anyone who was put in charge of brushing your coat, since you couldn't do it your self.

You shook off that thought and found the captain barking at some of the knights while they coward in fear. Your lips turned upwards in a grin as you approached them, but before you could say anything Meroleona turned on her heels and faced you.

"Can you please tell them to be quiet before they scare the villagers." She hissed behind gritted teeth.

Confused you looked behind her. The three men shivered in fear as one of them meet your eyes. "Why? What happened?" You asked curiously.

"You better let one of them explain it. It's already making my head whirl." She growled as she rolled her eyes.

You cocked an eyebrow towards the knights. The only thing you could hear was the excited screaming of the children behind you and the heavy breathing of the men in front of you.

"We s-saw something huge in the forest." One of the males spoke up. He had short messing black hair with hazel eyes. He was wearing a purple orcas cloak.

"And? It could of just have been one of the local animals."

"No you don't understand... It tracked us." The smaller male squealed. His tan hair was longer then the first one. The top was pulled back into a ponytail. He wore an aqua deer cloak.

"Tracked us? Nonsense."

"We're not joking ma'am. I noticed it about a few miles out of Hage. When we went over the village I lost sight of it, until Nekane noticed it racing through the trees below us." The last male spoke up, he grasp is Aqua Deer cloak roughly. He looked you in the eyes, but you could tell he was filled with fear.

You bit your tongue,  and continued to stare at the young men. That's impossible. An animal wouldn't be able to keep up with us, maybe a wolf but they're rare here.

"Could you discribe this animal?" You asked the male that just spoke. He seemed he was more collected than the others.

"Uh yeah... I couldn't get a good look at it since it was in the shadows but it was large. It stood, uhh roughly five feet at the shoulders, and eight feet from the nose to tail probably bigger. It didn't have any tail, or at least one I couldn't see. The paws were roughly as big as a adult males hand. Then it seemed like it's eyes were glowing a faint golden glow."

A faint shriek came from your left side, startling you. You looked down to see a little girl around the age five looking horrified as she stared at the man in front of you. She started to whisper underneath her breath. You squatted down next to her to try to hear what she was muttering.

"It's come back.."

You looked up to meet Meroleona's eyes, but she shrugged back at you. You returned your gaze back on the little girl. Even though you disliked little children you couldn't help feeling like picking her up and telling her that it's okay.

"It's come back... It's come back to kill us."

You could see that her fist were beginning to turn white from clenching them for so long. "What came back?" You managed to choke up.

The little girl turned towards you, tears started to roll down her face. "The Golden Bear." She whispered.

With that she turned and bolted back towards the village hollering, "The Golden Bear is back!"

The five of you stood there in shock as the village began to go up in chaos. The children who were crowding the magic knights already were with their parents being dragged in doors. In the distance you heard dogs howl, and a horse nickering.

"What the hell did you do." Nozel called out angrily as he stormed towards you a scowl plastered on his face.

"Why they just scared the whole town in thinking their mythical creature has returned."

You whipped around to see a very familiar man standing behind you.

Golden Bear - this bear was said to be the largest bear any of the natives had ever seen. It was reportly seen in Turner, Kansas. This bear would raid settlements and feast on the animals of the Shawnee tribe.
