Colin's POV~
It was 2-1, we were winning. If I didn't make this goal, my team wouldn't place 1st in the championship game because we needed at least 3 goals too win our bracket.
I dribbled the ball down the field, I faked right but slid left past number 7. As I got closer to the goalie everything felt like slow motion. I kicked the ball and it sailed into the air, narrowly missing the goalie and hitting the net behind him.
"GOAL!" The announcer cheered, just as the time reached 0:00.
"Our team just won 1st in the state championships!" I realized as I was met with a bunch of our team member tackling me in a bunch of hugs and cheers. As I turned around to look at the stands of people, I was met with a pair of familiar hazel eyes that were crinkled at the corners from her smile. It was the girl from math class, the one that I took a picture of while she was sleeping.
She quickly looked away when she realized that I was staring at her. There was something different about her that made me want to protect her from all the bad things in the world, I didn't even know her though.
"Hey, do you know anything about that chick in the pink skirt?" I asked a few of my soccer friends.
"Yeah, her name is Kayla Somber. Why? Are you going to try to hook up with her because I've heard she plays hard to get." Said Jeff, gazing at Kayla.
"I'm going over there to talk to her, don't forget that were eating at the new pizza place tonight to celebrate. You can bring anyone you want." I reminded the team as the nodded in agreement, most of them were probably going to bring their girlfriends.
As I walked towards Kayla to talk to her, she quickly busied herself in folding her blanket that she was sitting on.
"Hey! Remember me? The one you profoundly swore at during math class." I joked, winking at. She clearly didn't find it funny though.
"Um... why are you here? Aren't you suppose to be with your team?" She asked, scratching he back of her arm nervously.
"I was, but now I wanted to talk too you, maybe you could go eat some pizza with the team? There will be other girls there too, and you could bring the other chick over there." I asked, gesturing towards her friend with the blond hair.
"She has a name you know, it's Stephanie and fine, I'll go with you if you insist. But don't try to do anything to me, I'm not like the sluts that you have sex with." she spat, crossing her arms. Jeff was right, she was a feisty one.
"Wasn't going to, unless you wanted to." I winked, her scowl deepened even more.
"Meet me at the pizza place at 6, it's casual by the way, so you don't have to dress up." I informed her.
"Okay, we'll see you there. She said, walking away with her friend.
"Well that went well." I said out loud, walking back across the field to get my backpack. I couldn't wait to see her again.
