"Why can't you go!? I don't want to be alone!" I whined to Steph.
"Told you a million times why! It's because my family wants to go out to eat, and they want me to come with." said Steph
"You'll be fine anyways!" Added Steph, patting me on the back in reassurance.
"Ugh! You're so mean." I complained, flopping on her bed and frustration. Now that Steph couldn't go, I didn't really want to go to the pizza place anymore. But since I promised I would meet him there, I couldn't really ditch him, it would ruin his reputation; not that I care at all.
I was just going to wear what I had on because to everyone that was going to be there there "casual" standards were much different than shorts and a T-shirt, so I'd fit right in.
"Well I got to go or I'll be late so bye!" I said grabbing the purse she let me borrow.

As Steph pulled up to the restaurant, I recognized some of the girls my school and some of Colin's soccer friends. I didn't really want to go buy them since the girls were really mean to me in elementary school so I tended to stay clear of them as much as possible."Bye!!! Have fun!" Yelled Steph from the window. Winking, she pulled away from the restaurant and sped away leaving me.
As I searched for Colin in the crowd of people, I found a pair of sea-green eyes staring back at me which made me blush. He started walking towards me waving his hand to get my attention again.
"Hello! So you did decide to come after all, I was worried that you would ditch me! Why didn't you bring the other chick, whats her name again?" Colin asked, smirking at me. Oh how I hate when people smirk.
"Her name is Stephanie and she couldn't come because she has to be with her family." I spat, glaring at him.
"Hahaha, simmer down Simba! Let's go inside and get seated, I'll introduce you to the rest of the group." He said, smiling with a glint of a smirk.
"How I hate come-backs! If I could, I would slap that little smirk off his face." I thought, clenching my fists.
As he led me inside, he found the big group seated in the corner of the restaurant."Hey everybody! I'm so happy you could join us for the championship banquet! This is Kayla Somber, she is my....um... She is my friend that I brought." He said, stumbling at the word 'friend'. Last time I checked, we didn't even know each other.
As I sat down, I as meet with a lot of sneers from the other girls that were there, they defiantly didn't forget who I was from elementary. I was doomed.
"Hey, so you got yourself a boyfriend? Did you stalk him until he said yes or did you force him to take you to the banquet?" Whispered the girl sitting next to me, sneering in mock disgust.
"Actually for your information, he asked me to come, unlike you, who probably clung to your boyfriend until he said yes." I sneered back with just as much disgust. I didn't feel like dealing with her and her slutty friends right now.
For the rest of the time, I was mostly quiet, not wanting any attention since the girls would just mock me. I couldn't wait till this dinner was over.
"Hey, so do you want me to drive you home since Im pretty sure you don't have a ride home." Colin asked, standing from his chair, smirking at me.
"Umm... Sure..." I said, blushing. As we got of the restaurant, we realized that it was raining out, and I forgot to bring a coat.
"Hahaha you'll have to run for it." And without warning, Colin ran into the pouring rain to his car, leaving me run by myself.
"Ugh! I am never doing this again" I complained out loud, that ducking my head, I ran into the pouring rain to find Colin's car.
By the time Colin drove up to my house, we were both still drenched with water. But I still had to do one thing.
"Hey, can you drive me up to the mailboxes before you drop me off? I have to get something." I asked Colin, who nodded and turned the car around towards the mailboxes.
I rolled down the window and quickly opened the mailbox door. As I reached into the box to grab the letter that I was looking for, I felt nothing. No letters or anything, the mailbox was empty...
