Madelaine's POV:
After I told the cops everything that happened I really wasn't in a good mood. The police left and I sat there on a picnic table with Vanessa. Her hand was gently rubbing my back and I had my legs stretched over hers. I sighed and laid my head down on her shoulder. She kissed the top of my head and then I heard her laugh.
"What's so funny?" I asked a little offended. She just looked down at me and kissed my nose.
"I just can't believe how strong you are," she whispered. I looked down and smiled. I felt my cheeks turn red as she grabbed my hands. I love how she can still do this to me. "I love you," she said as she gently lifted my chin to look up at her.
"I love you too," I said. She leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on my lips and in that moment I forgot everything. Everything I had just been through and everything that was going to happen just disappeared. When she pulled away I frowned a little bit as everything came back.
"Why don't we go back to the cabin," Vanessa suggested. I nodded and stood up so Vanessa could get up too. Once she was up she wrapped and arm around my waist and pulled me close to her as we walked. Every few minutes Vanessa would kiss my shoulder or squeeze me reassuringly.
Once we got back to the cabin I opened the door and walked in. Vanessa followed shortly behind and we got into our bed. I was facing the wall when I felt a hand go around my waist. I jumped and pushed it off before turning around and realizing it was Vanessa's. I sighed and relaxed into her arms. She pulled me close to her and ran her fingers through my hair. She whispered sweet nothings into my ear as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
I woke up to someone gently kissing my face. I giggled as I felt their soft lips on my cheeks. I felt them smile before pulling away. I opened my eyes to see Vanessa staring down at me.
"Good morning beautiful," she said.
"Good morning," I answered. She smiled and kissed my forehead before pulling me back into her chest. I settled into her embrace. I always felt so safe in her arms and I knew that nothing would happen to me if I was here. I gently kissed her neck as she giggled. She was always very ticklish. Just then there was knock on the door.
"I'll get it," Vanessa sighed as she stood up. She opened the door as I got up to stand behind her.
"Hi ladies," Sam said.
"Hi Sam," I said.
"Madelaine hun how are you feeling?" She asked.
"Um... I'm okay I guess," I lied. I guess Vanessa could tell because she wrapped her arm around my waist.
"Well I'm glad you have Vanessa here. Anyways um Madelaine I talked to your parents and they said that they want you to go home," Sam explained. My heart dropped.
"What! No," I argued. Vanessa started to rub my back to get me to relax but I just pushed her off. "I'm not going home. I just had one of the most traumatic experiences of my life and I just want to be with Vanessa right now," I explained.
"Well Baby thats not going to change if you go home. I can come with you," Vanessa suggested. I looked at Sam who looked like she was trying to make a decision.
"You know what. Yeah Vanessa you can go with Madelaine. I'll still pay you your summer salary because I know how important this is," Sam agreed.
"Thank you sam!" Vanessa said.
"Okay well you should pack and then we'll see you out," Sam said as she left the cabin. I turned back to Vanessa and pulled her into a hug.
"You're gonna meets my parents," I said. "And they don't know I'm bi," I continued.
