Chapter 9: Wen Chao + Nie Huaisang

2am, a time with very few awake at. Nie Huaisang was one of the few still awake. He was asleep but suddenly felt hungry so he went downstairs to get something to satisfy his hunger. As he ate his cereal that he found, there was a knock at his door.

In hindsight he should've checked his cameras or peephole to see who was there before carelessly opening it, now he was regretting his decision and his heart was in his stomach. "H-How did you find me..?" He asked, voice faint.

The one standing outside of his door in the rain at 2am was none other than Wen Chao...his mate. "Your hard to track I'll admit, but luckily I was able to find you." Wen Chao said, his iconic smirk stapled to his face. "May I come in?" He asked, trying to take a step.

Huaisang snapped out of his shock and pulled out his dagger to protect himself. "Don't move. O-Or I'll call my brother and sick him on you!" Huaisang threatened, even though his brother was long dead.

Wen Chao snickered. "I know he's dead, that excuse doesn't work on me anymore. I just wanna talk baby, I mean it." He said with what sounded like genuine honesty and sincerity. "I'm sorry baby, please give me another chance."

Huaisang looked at Wen Chao like he grew a second head. "Sorry? Your Sorry? You nearly broke my mind trying to claim me as yours! You manipulated me! Why should I give you a second chance?!" Huaisang yelled.

"Baby please let me explain. I didn't mean to but my father wouldn't have accepted that my mate was a beta. I did what i did to prevent him from hurting you, honest! I hate myself every day for what i did to you and you have every right to hate me and to want to kill me. Please baby, give me one more chance. Just one that's all I ask, if i mess up then you can kick me to the curb or kill me. Whatever you want to make you happy." Wen Chao explained.

Huaisang didn't know what to do, he was shaking. He slowly backed up into a wall, dropping his dagger. "No...no no no....I should hate you! I should be trying to kill you right now!" Huaisang cried out, he was never good at hiding his emotions when stressed. "I should but I don't...why do I still love you?! I don't want to love you! Your a monster! Why did it have to be me?! Why am I your mate?!" He yelled through tears.

Wen Chao slowly approached Huaisang and pulled him into a hug, gently rubbing his head. "I'm sorry you have a monster for a mate, I didn't want to be like this but my father turned me into this. I love you Huaisang, truly. Give me one more chance to treat you like you deserve...please..." Wen Chao begged.

Huaisang's tears began to slow and his head became fuzzy, its been so long since he smelled his alpha's scent and it was relaxing him and putting him to sleep. He wanted to pull away, to get away from this scent, from this man but...he couldn't. He missed this smell of burning wood and aloe that came from Wen Chao.

Wen Chao saw the bandages around Huaisang's neck and slowly pulled it off without Huaisang's notice, the bandages fell to the floor with a soft thud and there on Huaisang's pristine neck was his mark. Faint but it was still there. "I was immature back then, I should have waited to mark you. Let me work to earn my right to claim you." Wen Chao said.

And Huaisang against his gut instinct, listened and believed Wen Chao. "Okay...You get one chance Wen Chao. But you mess up and I'm sicking Wangji on you. Understood?" Huaisang said.

"Understood, you won't regret this baby...I promise." Wen Chao said while still gently running his fingers through Huaisang's hair. Unbeknownst to Huaisang, Wen Chao now wore a twisted grin.

'My beloved mate, my beta. I will earn your trust and love back. And when I do, you will forever be mine and mine alone. And to make sure of that, i'll break every bond you have with those enemies of mine, make you loose trust in them. And I think i'll start with that ex fiance of your brother. I think putting the blame of my crime of killing Mingjue on him will do just fine.' He thought.
