“So you’re like me to, aren’t you?” Stella asked. Her eyes showed her relief.
“I know as much as you do. When exactly were you aware you could do these things?” I asked her trying to put pieces together.
“Two days ago at night. I was coming home from a long day at work when the sky was lit up by some sort of explosion. It looked beautiful, different colours burst out and shone in the night sky. Then the sky was filled with falling rocks it looked like a meteor shower. One of the rocks came crashing down in front of me. It narrowly missed me. I thought I was going to die. Then I walked closer to get a better look at it, and this thing was just absolutely beautiful. I don’t know what I was thinking but I reached out and touched it.” She paused and her eyes widened.
“I felt complete. Like my whole life was only half discovered until that point.” She said as I jotted down the last of my notes.
“I see. Your experience was very similar to mine. Would you mind following me back to my place, I have most of my medical equipment there? I will need a few blood samples before I can truly understand why we turn parts of our body into these rock forms.” I asked her. She nodded and walked upstairs.
“I will be ready in five minutes.” She called back. As soon as she came back down we walked out to the taxi.
“Hmm your back huh? Oh and what is this, is this a woman I see?” The cab driver grinned.
“You didn’t tell me you where picking up a lady. Good afternoon miss my name is Chris where are you headed? Oh and by the way don’t worry about the trip, I will drive you for free.” Chris assured her. Stella smiled, and then looked at me.
“Please take us to the address 42 melody road.” I answered.
“No problem sir. By the way you’re still paying double and I don’t expect any less. I have already given you a discount on your very attractive guest, from the goodness of my heart.” He answered looking through his rear view mirror. It was night time when we reached the hotel I was staying at. I opened the door to my room and let her in. She waited as I grabbed my travelling bag. I brought out a small plastic bag and inside contained a small piece of the meteor.
“Oh my goodness, that looks just like the rock I saw.” She gasped.
“This is a piece from my experience with meteors.” I said. She sat down and we talked and talked about our experiences. The hairs on the back of my neck began to stand up. I looked out of my window and saw a fully black van with no licence plate. Two men stepped out wearing black suits and a white shirt on the inside. They both had dark sunglasses on and appeared to be some kind of agents. Shortly after I heard a knock on my door I peeped through the view hole and saw a pistol pointed to my face. I immediately felt the rock pieces climb up my body it covered me within seconds.
“Who is it?” I asked. The man with the gun replied.
“It’s the police we just want to ask you a few questions.”
“You don’t look like police. I said as the lights in the hallway started to flicker. I stepped away from the door and waited for a response. My door blew open and the men fired their guns at me... but I didn’t feel any pain. The bullets had only penetrated the rocks it hadn’t even touched me. I smiled and felt a rush of electricity through my right arm I pointed it towards one of the man and released the energy. He didn’t stand a chance, it was as if he had touched an electric wire. The other man pulled a machine gun out of his suit jacket and fired rapidly a pipe burst inside the room and the floor was soaked.
“Stella climb on top of something just stay of the floor!” I yelled.
“Ok” She replied. The man was standing inside the room and looked down at the floor. It was filled with bolts of electricity and he screamed as the bolts filled his body. The rocks crawled back to my spine.
“Who were they and what did they want with us?” Stella asked as she came out of hiding.
“I don’t know who they are or who sent them, but who ever planned this is going to get a fist full of lightning.”
