Chapter 5
Red dresses
Alex was still working when lunchtime came around. For the past 5 days Eliza had been begging and pleading with him to take a break and go stay with them. Every time, Alex brushed her off, explaining that his work was far too important. He and Angelica had exchanged letters through the week, but he didn't bother writing back after the last one. What was the point is he were to see her in a day?
Eliza was playing with Phillip downstairs, when she heard a nock at the door. "Alexander, come downstairs!" Eliza cried happily. "Angelica's arrived!"
Alex wrote a few more half hearted sentences and put his pen down. He briskly walked down the stairs and smiled when he saw the two sisters excitedly hugging.
"Angelica!" He said happily. "Welcome back."
"Alexander!"
Angelica hugged him tightly.
"It's so good to see you."
"Angelica, seeing as you're staying a night, you must help me convince Alex to take a break!" Eliza butted in.
"I told you Eliza, I will loose my job if the plans don't go through."
"You're not joining us?" Angelica asked in disbelief.
"I'm afraid I cannot join you this time."
"Alexander I came all this way!" Angelica exclaimed.
Alex began to feel rattled with irritation.
"I must get back to work," he said abruptly. "I'll join you later."
He walked back upstairs, and Angelica attemted to follow. ELiza grabbed her arm to stop her.
"Don't," She said sorrowfully.
Angelica nodded, and they went to get themselves some lunch.
~Time skip cause writers block
Alex was exhausted. He hadn't slept properly for a week, he hadn't gone to work, but rather worked at his house. He was writing yet another page of information for work when he heard a nock at his door.
Alex straightened out his clothes and went to open the door. He almost wished that he hadn't. On his doorstep stood a crying woman who looked pitiful in her red dress.
"Hello Ma'am," he said politely. "May I help you with something?"
She sniffed a little before speaking.
"I'm so sorry to bother you at home, but my husband is gone, and I have no means to go on," she cried.
"I'm so sorry to hear that," Alex said sincerely. "May I offer you a loan to help for now?"
She nodded meekly, and Alex went and grabbed a document and $30.
"Here you go, ms, umm..."
"Reynolds, sir. Maria Reynolds."
"Can you sign this for me?"
She meekly nodded and signed the loan. Alex handed her the $30.
"Do you need me to walk you home?" he offered politely.
"If it wouldn't trouble you too much sir," she said.
Alex walked with Maria. She stayed a little uncomfortably close to him and occasionally brushed shoulders with him. Alex didn't really know what to do and just put up with her. They carried on walking like this all the way to her house a couple of blocks down.
"This one's mine," she said as they reached a fairly small, face brick house. She made her way to the front door, fumbled around with her keys a little, and unlocked the door.
"May I make you some tea?" She offered as she walked in.
Alex felt a little skeptical, but went in anyways. He followed her to the kitchen, where she busied herself boiling the water and taking out the cups. Alex looked around a little awkwardly. The house was fairly simple, there was a couch and a table and a staircase that lead upstairs. He patiently waited for her to finish, and she then motioned for him to come sit on the couch with her.
Maria handed him his tea and sat down to drink hers. He made sure to sit a reasonable distance away from her and cautiously sipped his tea.
"How is your wife doing?" Maria asked lightly.
"She's doing alright," Alex said.
"I couldn't help but notice she didn't seem to be at home."
"She's spending some time with Phillip at the moment at her father's house."
Alex was relaxing a little more, enjoying the small talk. They spoke a bit more for a while, and long to the moment their tea would have been cold, she offered to show him a little project that she had been working on.
"It's truly marvelous," Maria said to him. "I've taken a liking into painting and all sorts recently."
"That does sound wonderful!"
"I can always show you if you'd like," she offered, and stood up, heading towards the stairs.
Alex followed her, and they went into a room filled with canvases. Some were half complete, some were finished, and some were still blank.
"These are amazing," Alex said and walked around the room, running his hand over one of the paintings, feeling the rough patterns graze over his fingers.
"My favorite one is in my room," she said lightly. "It was one of the first one's that I actually finished.
Alex was spiked with curiosity, and followed her out the door and into the new room. (Alex you fucking oblivious bastard)
Maria lead him inside and pointed at a canvas which had a ballade of red roses scattered across it.
"Wow," Alex whispered. "This is beautiful."
He didn't quite hear Maria, so he turned around, only to find that she had closed the door behind her and had latched it.
"You are one easy lamb to fool," she purred and walked up to him.
Maria snaked her arms around him and forcefully pressed her lips against his. Alex was in shock. He didn't want this.
Alex pushed her away harshly, but she clung onto him the best that she could.
"Come on Alexander," she growled into his ear. "It'll be fun."
Alex violently shook his head and weakly shoved at her.
(Lets pretend she spiked his tea with something to make him weaker cause logically he should be stronger than her xD)
He feebly pushed her away when she pulled him to the bed, failing miserably. She forcefully kissed him, grabbing at his clothes, pulling them off.

Lets stop here cause I really don't want to figure out how terrible my smut writing is
}
Alex woke up the next morning, unclothed and with puffy tear stained eyes. He felt dirty and disgusting. He saw Maria lying next to him and he scrambled out of bed, shoving his clothes onto his body. He jiggled the latch on the door a little, and when it finally sprang loose he ran down the stairs and burst out the front door. He ran home, went inside, and locked the door behind him. He raised his hands to his tearstained face. He felt his cheeks, ran his hands over his neck, and felt a sob rising up. He fell to the ground with his face in his hands, crying his heart out over his shattered pride and dignity.

I had such a hard time writing this chapter, so I've been MIA for a while. I have now made Maria out to be a terrible person, and if you have a problem with that, begone please xD
This is 100% unedited to please tell me my mistakes.
