Chapter 10: Backstories

"I'm so sorry. She couldn't make it"

Thats all she heard. Those words keep ringing in her head.

On that day, she feel like her world is crashing down to a dark abyss.

She remember how cold the white tiles were. She can see every nurses and doctors running all around the place, to save people's life.

And so as her life too. They worked more than they were supposed to be.

She was  just six on that time, but she already understand everything. About what the doctor's words meant.

". . . Am I going to be fine?"

"I don't know anymore, darling. . ."

Yashiro's POV

White floors. I remember the white floors.

My hand is connected to an infusion. It hurts. But I already manage to get used to it. 

I can see the city's view from the big window in my ward.

The bed is soft, yet hard for me in my heart. Knowing that I'll be trapped here for the rest of life is disturbing.

I want to be a teacher. I want to get married. I want to be happy.

I want to be with everyone.

Don't mom and dad understand on what my last wish are? They said this is for my own good.

Is it really good?

The world is big and yet still undiscovered.

I want to explore it too. Like the other children do too.

"I just want to be free for the last time."

End of Yashiro's POV

She thought she wakes up on a hospital bed. Thankfully she isn't.

Yashiro sighed in relieve as she stare at the night sky. Its still night time. Around tweleve thirty if she isn't wrong.

That dream.

Its disturbs her very badly. She could've just screamed if its get longer than it supposed to be.

She's scared that it might come true very soon. But she promised to herself that she'll not get it all over to the top of her head.

All she going to do now, is to have fun. For the last time.

She'll be back in that cage, very soon enough. And she wanted to have fun.

Besides, there is still something that she really wanted to know so badly since she was a child.

"Nene-chan, there is a letter for you"

"Is it him!?"

"Yeah, take a look at it"

Hi, Nene.

Its me. The boy you met a few weeks ago. I think you are really sweet. You are also pretty calm even in a bad situation.

Thats so cool!

By the way, my dad is friends with this owner of a restaurant or. . . Whatever it is!

He likes to read me stories. He bought me books about stars. Its really cool. Wish you are here to read it with me.

I'm still surprised that your legs isn't swollen. It looked like radishes. Haha, radish legs. But its cute though!

Its truly bizzare to have a stranger to suddenly write letters for you.

But she thinks its sweet. It really.

Yashiro stare at the bunch of letters from the unknown boy she met. He stopped writing as so is she a few years ago.

He never really tell his name. And he only know her first name, which is Nene.

She is really touched by him.

But it could've been better if he removed the radish legs part.

She stare at the letters again, sadistically.

"Wait until I find you. . ." She murmured with a slight smile.

Basically, at the beginning, it shows backstories. In her POVS, it also shows her backstories and in the end, is shows the present.
