Royally Impossible#51

Isla June took a deep breath as she watched the waves coming from the sea moving. It was already late at night and most of the wedding guests are already in their hotel rooms. The private wedding of Velasco - De Rossi was solemn and beautiful. Her family, the Lins, were a longtime family friend of the De Rossi's - making them as one of the few invited guests.
"Hi."She turned around to see Joziah Khari Omari - smiling at her warmly. He was wearing a light - white long sleeved polo together with a beige pants and brown leather shoes. It was his attire for the whole wedding. And it really suited him.
She smiled back, "Hi."
It's been a month since they were like this...
He bit his lower lip awkwardly, "You're so pretty, as always..." He muttered like a shy boy.
Napailing naman siya sa sinabi nito.
"You're not bad as well," She replied - and she could feel, during that time, like it was only the two of them.
"So you're single again..." He said in amusement.
She giggled, "Yes... and for sure, hindi na kami magkakabalikan."
Natahimik naman silang dalawa. They were both staring at each other's eyes, intensely and longingly. The waves of the ocean and the winds were the only noises during that hour.
"I hope you didn't regret that about me getting the garter," Joziah broke the silence and chuckled, "Sabi sa 'kin ni Isaac, you looked constipated when I was the one who got it and was supposed to marry you in the future."
She stifled a light laugh at his remark, "Do you want an honest answer?"
Natahimik naman ito ulit at tinaasan siya ng kilay. She laughed mentally. Natatawa talaga siya sa facial expression nito.
"I didn't regret it, Joziah," She answered him honestly, "I was happy actually... I'm happy to see you again."
Sumilay naman bigla ang abot tengang ngiti nito. Then he stared at her lovingly.
"Tama nga siguro sila," He uttered softly, "Tangina, ang rupok ko."
Isla just smiled. She could already feel her heart bursting with too much emotions as well.
"I still like you, Isla June," Joziah added like he already surrendered himself to the truth, "I think I'm always going to be crazy about you no matter what."
But before she could even respond, she saw her mother, walking towards them. Nakakunot-noo itong lumapit sa kanila.
"Isla June, why are you still here?" Her mother, Shirley Lin, asked confusingly as its gaze went at Joziah.
"M-Mom, this is..." She gulped. She was nervous, "Joziah Khari, 'yung partner ko kanina sa entourage, he's a friend."
Her mother stared at Joziah like she was examining him, "Your parents... they look familiar, are you from Morocco?"
Joziah looked surprised at the question and nodded, "Yes, Ma'am. I'm from Morocco."
Shirley Lin then looked back at Isla, "Isla June. Let's go back to the hotel," Anito at tinalikuran kaagad sila. Her mother walked first towards the hotel.
Nilingon naman ni Isla si Joko - and he just nodded at her - to follow her mother. She hesitantly followed, leaving him.
Joziah just sighed when the two women were out of his sight. He went back at watching the ocean, his hands on his pockets.
Ilang minuto naman ay napatigil siya nang may tumawag sa pangalan niya.
"Joziah!"
He looked back and saw Isla June running towards him. She stopped when she was just a few inches away from him. She was panting.
"Isla June?" He was puzzled. Earlier, he already knows her mother doesn't like him - and probably doesn't want Isla to be seen around with him. But now, she's here.
She went back to him.
When she stopped panting, she lifted her head up and looked at him, "I have something to tell you..."
He didn't talk and just stared at her. True enough, she was really the prettiest girl for him that night.
"I like you too, Joziah Khari," She said breathlessly, "I like you so much... I really like you so much."
Joko almost felt his heart skipped beat - but for sure, it was the happiest moment of his life, "How about your Mom? Your parents?"
"I told them that the man I always want to date is you and they can't force me anymore to like somebody else... Well, they're mad actually but I don't care anymore, I mean, ahia backed me up."
Joko smiled warmly and cupped her cheek with his right hand, "You're a bad girl, you know that?"
"I like you, Joziah Khari Omari," She repeated, "And I want to be your girlfriend."
Joko grinned and was about to kiss her when someone threw a pebble at them.
"Get a fucking room!" They both looked on their right and saw Isaac rolling his eyes at them. Kumuha na naman ito ng maliit na bato at binato sa kanila ulit.
"Mandiri kayong dalawa!" He yelled. Napailing na lang si Joziah rito. Then he gave his cousin a middle finger.
"Fuck you too, arabo! Marupok!" Isaac shouted again, raising his middle finger at him too.
Joziah just kissed the side of Isla's forehead and wrapped his arm around her shoulders - walking away from his cousin who ruined their spur of a moment.
Well, at least, Isla June is his girlfriend now.
Amp, pwede na talaga siyang kunin ni Lord.
